I thought perhaps some of you would like to hear what he REALLY said today.
To: PeteFromMontana
Is anyone else a bit concerned because there has not been one peep about Marta? That would be a real bummer. It sounded like when he got out of rehab he went to NY, not Florida or am I jumping to conclusions?
I didn't hear all 180 minutes of the show so if he did talk about her please, please tell me/us.
To: PeteFromMontana
Thanks Pete,
The media goons are already spinning it out of control.
I had to call into my evening talk radio station and set the host straight, after he mis-quoted Rush 3 different times.

Didn't get to hear the show today, but I am glad you posted this--was wondering what was said and didn't have time to scan through the threads covering today's show.
He is still a class act.

Here is to Rush getting back on the air. I wish him well. He may get fat again real soon though and that wouldn't be a bad thing. I am simply amazed of what he was able to accomplish while under such an addiction. Back pain is often a reason for such pill addictions. Limbaugh is hardly the only person to succumb to addiction to pain killers after suffering such pain.

His opening show wasn't meant to be a twelve step meeting. He doesn't have to comment on his private life. His drug addiction became public- but what he and his wife do, think, or talk about is theirs. No reason to even mention her.

Thanks for the post. Due to work, I didn't have the opportunity to listen to Rush today and really wanted to know what he said.

I heard his last show. He said that the back operations were a failure and he needed the pain medication to get through the pain. Now he is off the meds, how does he deal with the pain? I think I'd rather take an addictive drug the rest of my life than live in chronic pain.

I hope someone who heard the entire 3 hrs will report all is well on his homefront.

Perhaps the pain went away but the addiction remained- as is often the case?

Thank you for the post Pete. I have therapy on MWF at 0900 and I knew I would miss his first words back.

I agree Allen,
Rush used to talk about his wife all the time but not any more. Certainly what he was doing the last 5-7 years on pain killers is a test for any marriage.
If they split up, I'll the media braodcast it ASAP!

not been one peep about Marta I had exactly the same thought. He spoke about trying too hard to please others, and that he could only rely on himself. ("I can no longer anticipate what I think people want and try to give that to them. I can no longer try to live my life by making other people happy. I can no longer turn over the power of my feelings to anybody else ...") I thought the same thing as you about the absence of her name, and coincidental broadcast from NYC. I hope, for both of them, that I am wrong.

Well he was able to carry on a show 5 days a week play golf with the biggies etc etc and nobody was suspicious so how bad can the drugs be

I should add he was quoting her comments and thoughts on the current social and political scene up to his leaving so they must have been having decent communications
I just wonder how he is going to be able to handle the pain if he still has it
Cronic pain is a real downer

If that is the only choices bring on the pills

I think Clinton said the same thing one time. Wish I had Lexis/Nexis and could do a search.
