We don't usually report what's in the National Enquirer, but we have to point out the hypocrisy of the left-wing media establishment, which gladly cited the tabloid's reports on Rush Limbaugh but has been silent on its drug allegations about NBC's Matt Lauer and now new revelations about Democrat diva Barbra Streisand. The Enquirer's Nov. 25 issue charges, "Barbra Streisand's fanatical support of the CBS movie smearing President Ronald Reagan wasn't just politics - it was personal!"
Babs' son, Jason Gould, who appeared in her movie "The Prince of Tides," is infected with AIDS, the tabloid says, and she has repeatedly cited the Democrat party line that Reagan should have done more to stop the disease.
She said as far back as 1992 that she would "never forgive" Reagan for his positions on AIDS education and research. "Streisand hates Reagan so much it clouds her judgment, insiders insist," the weekly reports.
The Enquirer notes that Malibu Barbi has worked on at least three projects with the producers of "The Reagans," Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, "who are known for their gay advocacy projects and remakes of musicals."
"There is absolutely no way Barbra didn't see the script before production started," the Enquirer quotes a source as saying.
Michael Paranzino, a former GOP congressional staffer who launched BoycottCBS.com, said, "And that is why CBS found themselves just three weeks out, realizing that they had a hatchet job on their hands."
So how come the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, CBS etc. cited the Enquirer's reports on Bill Clinton and O.J. Simpson but are giving Streisand a pass?

Did she think Reagan 'boinked' him?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
I hope barbaaaaaaaaaaara hates clintoon as much then, since he did very little about aids during his, uh, watch.
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
That rules out bad parenting.

She ought to blame her depraved son, her own lousy childrearing (no pun intended), and the human petrie dish who buggered him. |

Just because your son couldn't stand to touch a woman after being raised by you is no reason to blame Reagan, Ms. Streisand.

She needs to read And the Band Played ON,,the lack of an early response to aids was mostly because of the gay community not wanting their bath houses closed down.

I didn't know Reagan swung that way. Maybe that will be in next year's Movie-of-the-Week.

If only Reagan had taught him about how you can get AIDS from having sex with multiple partners at gay bath houses! It was Reagan's responsibility, since clearly his mother wasn't teaching him anything.

Babs' son, Jason Gould, who appeared in her movie "The Prince of Tides," is infected with AIDS, Fayghela?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Unless he contracted AIDS through an innocent blood transfusion, I have little sympathy for this clown.

Dear Barbra,
You are a total idiot. You want to blame everyone else for your problems, while you and your son refuse to take any responsibility whatsoever for his condition -- a condition that could have easily been avoided.
Perhaps the real blame should be placed with you. A good mother would have taught her son better. At one time, you were a good entertainer, but you are now a "has been" and you have failed miserably as a mother.
Signed,
Several million former fans

How could Reagan have stopped her son from getting AIDS? How could MORE education have stopped her son from getting infected? (What year did he get infected, by the way?) How many times does the media have to broadcast the message about AIDS before it sinks in? More money is being spent on AIDS research than on any other disease. People were aware even before Rock Hudson died that indiscriminate sexual behavior with multiple partners led to life-threatening medical problems.

So now I guess we know the motivation behind the Brolin/Reagan movie?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
This is just one of the stages of grief and no matter what her politics are, from mother to mother I feel sorry for her. Hopefully, she will get a clue. It's easier to blame anyone other than oneself or one's child but the responsibilty for bad parenting or sexual promiscuity lies only with those people, not the government.

Your mom must have been around gay people her whole life, right? She certainly worked with gay people. But there were very few gay people around while I was a child.
How did your mom respond to your coming out to her?
I think she would love to have a grandchild, and I think that is probably the greatest disappointment to her. But you know, she may still get one. But I want to get a dog first. [Laughs]
It does seem that your coming-out has prompted your moms political involvement on behalf of gays and lesbians.
Im sure Ive been a positive influence, but shes a pretty liberal person, and shes very passionate about human rights. So I wouldnt take the credit for her support of gay rights, although she certainly got a more inside perspective from me. From this article: This boys life

Does she think President Reagan should have personally put the condom on her son when he was about to get it on with some dude?

And with such "hip" parents, you'd think the boy would have been well prepared for the world outside, wouldn't you?
