November 17, 2003 -- Fresh from a stint in rehab, Rush Limbaugh was set to return to the radio today, five weeks after revealing he was addicted to painkillers. "Rush is faunching at the bit to get back on the air," said his brother David Limbaugh.

"and has hired famed defense lawyer Roy Black, who once helped William Kennedy Smith beat rape charges."
Uh-oh, is that an admission that he needs a lawyer. That's not good as most freepers around here know that if you get a lawyer, you have to be guilty. Otherwise you wouldn't need one.

Dear Kat, remember back when there was seemingly no conservative voice speaking out loud about Clinton and all the Dem scams? Rush came along and slowly but surely things began to change. The left hated Rush, he was the original Neanderthal to them, and he had more fun mocking them "than the law ought to allow", "half my brain tied behind me", and the good times began. Marse Hillary had fits over him, and he redefined talk radio.
If Rush retired today and just played golf the rest of his life, nobody should/could forget that he was there when we needed him. Now it's our turn to be there for him. And I certainly pray that today will be the best broadcast of his career to date, and he just keeps on from there.

Actually, I am not a 'Ditto Head' and have only listened to Rush occasionally. I applaud his courage in addressing his problem with pain medications frankly and forthrightly.
That being said -- it seems to me that certain former housekeeping people might be in genuine trouble. We will have to just wait and see what develops.

Rush is a victim of pain, a type of pain that doctors can't treat without risking their licenses -- a pain that is not legally treatable thanks to government regulations.
If there is a crime in treating such pain, the criminal is government.
