Todays support the Troops rally at Camp Murray (FT Lewis, Washington state) was a resounding success!
I arrived an hour early and the Supporters had already spanned Exit 122 and the surrounding streets!
This show of support was for the largest call up of National Guard in decades. The organization "Not in Our Name" had threatened to protest the arrival of troops of the 81st Armored Brigade, and other detachments reporting for training duty before their deployment to Iraq.
Word got out that the loonies from Seattle were going to show up at exit 122 to make a stink about the war, and our brave men and women soldiers heading there.
Thanks to a heads up from local radio stations KVI 570, and KTTH 770, plans to launch a counter protest were made...and I'm here to tell ya it was a glorious response!
The smile on the troops diving by, and the constant blaring of horns from the freeway passerbys was quite moving. Yet everywhere I looked, I couldn't find the war protestors! Believe me...I looked everywhere...including the garbage cans and grease pit outside of Galloping Gerdies Restaurant...nowhere I tell ya! I wonder if the sight of all those American flags and support the warrior signs held by hundreds, if not thousands of Patriotic Citizens had anything to do with it?
Must admit, had to leave early as old war wounds won't allow me to stand for more than half an hour at a time, but managed to wave Ol Glory for two hours...damn the pain...this was FUN!
On the Way back North I was delighted to see that not only was Exit 122 filled with red, White, and Blue...but the next THREE highway overpasses were burgeoning with Americas Finest! Great going fellow Freepers! Especially Libertina...great to finally meet you!

No problem! Heck, I was at the Bellevue rally which I believe was in March 2003, and the media like usual didn't cover it well... and they wonder why cable news receives the highest number of viewers! Because if you can't see the truth about your local area you might as well watch the national or world news on a good cable station.
As soon as I get some of the pics I took I'll see if any turned out well enough to post.

"Too bad nobody burned a big UN flag."
I made such suggestions in a chant I started, "Burn that blue flag, Burn that blue flag..." In addition to "The UN sucks!,... and "Seattle Liberals suck,...". There was plenty of similar sentiment directed by others toward these silly UN utopia dreamers. There was one Asian protester that went totally berserk...I mean it was funny to watch. She even made it onto KOMO TV News.
However, the rally was overwhelmingly positive especially since their numbers where so insignificant and their party was isolated and obscured by hundreds of patriots displaying AMERICAN flags and support signs. I'm still stoked by this incredible turnout!

I had to laugh a little about it. That one lady screaming that we were fighting for corporations...... looked alot like my 3 year old niece during one of her temper tantrums! LOL

That one lady screaming that we were fighting for corporations......
Actually, that woman was not a "lady". She was such a freak! I was just 2-3 feet away from her and I was disgusted with the hatred she spewed.

Did anyone catch the 14 year old girl who was yelling at one of the "Not in our Name" individuals about how they don't "get it" and how she was 14 and "got it" but they didn't... it's good to know there are youth out there who completely understand what is happening around them.
If anyone of those people truly loved this country they'd hold no flag higher or before the one that represents our great nation.

I have to admit that we were a might more vocal than before and left our white gloves home. When the uneducated arrived, they were suddenly amassed in a sea of red, white, and blue flags, flown by patriots who meant business. As they left, they were immediately trailed by another group - determined to "see them to their cars." LOL If only our national Pubbie "leaders" could be as strong. Let's face it, WA rocks and we're taking back our state! BTTT

It must be some strange world for them to wake up in a country that thrives on freedom with out being able to grasp how and why its that way.
I will definately attend any other event to stand against the likes of those who are in Anti-American organizations.

I was there, and I noticed! I have a picture I'd like to share of the man I stood behind... you'll note his extremely short hair; as I heard the conversation with someone he was close to he himself was military and just got back from Iraq. I didn't bother him because he made it clear to those who knew him that he wanted it hushed... but sir if you are reading this THANK YOU! I was there for those like you.
