Ann properly describes the exclusive control that Judge Greer maintains over the life of Terri Schiavo, a point ignored by too many on this forum who insist that his decisions have been "reviewed" by other courts and judges. His legal opinions have been reviewed, but his critical findings of fact NEVER have been.

This man - this fallible, incapable, selfish man - held Terri Schiavo's life in his hands with a terrible tenacity, until Governor Bush and the Florida Legislature recognized the fatal flaw in existing legislation in this area and took steps to correct it.

But more terrible than Judge Greer's stubborn self- righteousness has been his refusal to recuse himself due to his physical inability to consider all of the evidence in this case. George Greer is visually impaired, to the degree that he is unable to obtain a driver's license. But Terri Schiavo is unable to communicate either verbally or in writing. All that she can do to indicate her mental presence is to look, gesture, and show her face - all completely beyond the ken of this inadequate judge who continues to try to kill her, perhaps to avoid the embarassment of his own failure NOT to act.

Defeat at the polls would be inadequate for his arrogance. He ought to be impeached and removed, immediately, and every other judge ought to take a proper lesson in public SERVICE instead of public arrogance.

"George Greer is visually impaired, to the degree that he is unable to obtain a driver's license."

This, and related things, I did not know. This was a very informative thread, thanks to all.

My living will is also going to say DO ALL within reason to save me. And I hope my iron-willed friend will agree to be my proxy. She might not agree with my desires, but she'd go to her death to see my wishes done, like the fine American she is.

>>[Greer's] legal opinions have been reviewed, but his critical findings of 'fact' NEVER have been.

The last judge to refuse to spare Terri from death-row in October was [federal] U.S. District Judge Richard Lazzara in Tampa. This man was appointed by BILL CLINTON in 1997.

Immediately prior to that, from 1993-1997, this Judge Lazzara worked at the SECOND DISTRICT COURT OF APPEAL in Lakeland, where he was appointed by DEMOCRAT Lawton Chiles.

Now, why does that 2nd DCA sound familiar? Well, THAT'S the court that is trying to illegally rule on the constitutionality of Terri's Law. The case against the new state-law that SHOULD have been (by law) filed at Tallahassee, where the law was legislated, and signed by the Governor. Attorney Felos also made a dozen OTHER errors when filing that challenge.

No matter though, the 2nd DCA well remembers it's friend and recent fellow judge Lazzara, and it would be like a slap in the face of a family member to discredit Lazzara in any way.

The Tampa area courts indicated they intend to do like Lazzara, and USE the existing 'FACTS' (pulled out of Greer's &ss) and judge Jeb Bush's law on 'constitutional' grounds only.

I will see if I can find out how many OTHER 2nd DCA judges are democRAT appointees.

...You can see where they are going with this.

TTT for a very well-written post.

Now if Ann could just persuade her friend, Matt Drudge, who said that the people advocating for Terri Schindler's right not to be killed are "insincere". Way to go, Ann. Terri's fight has long needed prominent conservative voices like yours to speak the words she cannot say.

I thought it was the very purpose of a private bill: to intervene when the law has no remedy. This whole notion of judicial supremacy is anti-republican. In a republic, the legislature is paramount, not the courts.
