It's not that they refuse to see it. They know that's how we feel. They just see it differently. They'd -prefer- it to be here than there - cause fighting them over there is NOT advancing the goal of destroying America, damnit, and they're pissed.

Exactly. I tried to explain that to a friend of mine who was skeptical about the war. Bush's "bring 'em on" statement was brilliant. Daring them to come to us. That's easier than going to them. Downside is lives lost of our soldiers but believe soldier's lives lost than innocent civilians here I suppose.

It's because they're like children - they want what they want in spite of any opposing reality that may be going on in the world around them. Someone else - Mommy and Daddy - will take care of anything they don't want to deal with.
