The company also noted solid support for Rush. Clear Channel radio chief John Hogan also was quoted by Inside Radio,: "We have maintained 100 percent of our affiliate base and we have maintained our advertiser base as well."

I am glad to hear this, but I certainly hope that ClearChannel's support for Rush isn't solely based on pragmatism. After all, if Rush had murdered somebody, but had kept 100% of his affiliate base and advertiser base, would they be solidly behind him?

The issue isn't whether Rush has maintained his base, but whether ClearChannel has evaluated how and why Rush became an addict and decided he deserves their support.

For the record, I support Rush, but based on the moral issues outlined above, not based on his ability to serve me or his market.

Shalom.

David did not mention a return date, while he had several chances to do so.

Good. Come on back, Rush. Rejoice. The worthless "Liberals" gave it their best shot--and it flopped. You can't keep a good man down!

According to Media Post's "Media Daily News," Limbaugh is set to return to the airwaves on Nov. 17, four days before he's scheduled to make his first public appearance since entering rehab.

I'm scheduled to attend an all-day Tax Conference on Nov 17th and Nov 18th (snoooooooze). Memo to self... make sure Walkman has new batteries and works.

You don't kick a serious drug habit in 30 days. Rush will be fighting this addiction demon for a long time. It's basically with you for life. I'm betting Rush can keep things in check. Looking forward to Rush`s return.

Art Bell came back full time a few times, and then abruptly quit. Now he is back 2 days a week and is better than ever. Maybe Rush should start out 2 days a week and work his way up. A relapse could destroy him.

Has anyone heard what Marta has had to say about Rush's situation? Has there been a thread on her reaction? If so please give a link to it. Thanks.

Good, now that what they might have been blackmailing him over has come out, he can show some backbone again. But I doubt it.

On Friday, Rush’s brother David said that Rush is succeeding in shaking off his addiction to prescription painkillers and is eager to return to his post as the nation's No. 1 talk host.

I hope David is paraphrased here, because you never 'shake off' your addiction.

You make a daily choice not to use.

Sometimes, you make an HOURLY choice not to use.

I'm not sure how much weight to give to these "everything's going great!" reports. Rush has a serious problem, one he's tried to kick in the past without success, and he has many people who rely on his on-air presence for a paycheck.

I'm all for Rush getting better, of course. It's just that these reports smack of "tell them exactly what his loving fans want to hear". I hope Rush takes care of his problem, on the timetable it requires. I hope he doesn't feel pressured to come back on for any reason, even if he is a valuable voice for truth and conservatism.

Rush, if you can read this, just please put yourself first right now! We'll hold down the fort here, with love, while you're taking care of number one.

I'll be waiting to hear what he says about the WOD now. We know what he said before. I'm guessing all comments will be put on permanant hold on the advice of his attorney.
