It looks like it is his race to lose, but that doesnt mean he has it nailed down, said pollster Brad Coker. From the time the poll was finished, there were nine days left, a long time in a hotly contested race.
I do think it's now Jindal's race to lose. The Dems are going to try to rerun the 2002 Terrell/Landrieu race, but Jindal is ten times better than Terrell was. Watch for the Dems to try to drop some "political napalm" in the next few days. If Blanco can't gain traction fast, she's done for.

Black males are starting to vote like white males, he said. Um--hello? Blanco has a 65-point lead among black males.

That was a rather ridiculous statement.

Agreed. As much as I would have preferred Terrell over Landrieu, Terrell was a weak candidate and ran a poor campaign. Landrieu being the incumbent was far more polished.
The same doesn't apply to Jindal. I believe he's clearly the stronger candidate and more polished than Blanco.

This is still close, though very encouraging. A lot depends on how many dead people vote.

As deport said, Bush isn't there because of 2002. He's not going to go down there and have another loss hung around his neck. The other reason is that LA has an excitable black population and Bush might think the events last November helped get blacks to the polls to vote for Brownroots. I'm sure he'd be there if Jindal wanted him there. Jindal is happy to run this race his way. He's making inroads with blacks and no one wants to risk screwing it up by bringing Bush in.

I forget. Why is Bush not compaigning in LA? The RATS used Bush's support of Suzie Terrell as cause to whine about "outsiders butting into La. politics." It gave them another non-issue to take advantage of. In addition, our RINO governor Foster (YOU USELESS SACK OF SH!T) actually moaned too about outside interference, complaining over how unfair it was that the national Republican party had chosen only one candidate to support. (Not his.) He then started the "negative campaign" BS which IMO cost Terrell the election. (Can you tell I dislike Foster a little?)
Jindal wisely preempted the "outside interference" issue by making it known he wasn't inviting anyone from DC to campaign for him. To my delight, he also told Foster to STFU after Foster made some harsh comments about Blank-o. (While I thought what he said was funny, he could have hurt Jindal by continue to spew.) Hopefully, Foster will continue to keep his cake-hole shut for another week.

Jindal needs to appear as his own man. A Bush visit to Louisiana might make Jindal's campaign look like it's being micromanaged by Beltway consultants rather than Louisiana good ol' boys.

Louisiana Weekly, another prominent African-American publication, announced their endorsement of Jindal. Just heard this on "Ringside Politics," WWL-690 AM.
