Legacy: Paying the Price for the Clinton Years by Rich Lowry |

Bill and Hillary Clinton don't want you to read this book. Bill has spent his days since the presidency aggressively defending his legacy, and Hillary plans to run for president on it, and now, unfortunately for them, Rich Lowry uses sound fact and shocking detail to dispel the myth of the Clinton legacy once and for all. Showing how a politician with grandiose ambitions became a cautious, poll-driven placeholder and how a president who yearned to confront a great international crisis cringed and still shrank from the threat of Islamic terrorism when it arrived, Lowry destroys Clinton's record as president and sparks an intense debate about the nature of his legacy. Lowry reveals how: 1. Clinton didn't "grow" the economy; his economic record depends on lies 2. Clinton sold out US national security to campaign contributors 3. Clinton stood in the way of real welfare reform before being forced by Republicans to sign a reform bill 4. Attorney General Janet Reno was AWOL on domestic security 5. Clinton's scandals were very real and he deserved impeachment 6. Clinton made sexual liberation the only cause for which he took career-endangering risks 7. Clinton's unwillingness to use force abroad emboldened America's enemies 8. Clinton left the country vulnerable to September 11 terrorist attacks You won't know the truth about Clinton until you read this book. |
I do take issue, however, with point #6, "Clinton made sexual liberation the only cause for which he took career-endangering risks."
Notwithstanding the fact that the construct, 'clinton cause' is obviously oxymoronic, I would hardly characterize the clinton oeuvre in this area as "liberating."

ROCKEFELLER NOT MEMOGATE PRIME MOVER: SEN. EVAN BAYH (D-IN)
|
|
MEMOGATE INDIRECTION: Rockefeller and Daschle, as we have argued, are decoys, useful idiots, more cutout than cutthroat, less sockdolager than sock-puppet. Rockefeller's too genteel; Daschle's too "concerned." Neither, frankly, has the requisite utter disregard for life. And perhaps most important, (insofar as decoy suitability is concerned), each is sufficiently insipid to ensure insufficient opposition ire. No. MEMOgate bears the indelible mark of clinton.
It is critical that Sen. Rockefeller and his clinton lackey staffer, Christopher Mellon, be put under oath. They must be asked to identify MEMOgate's prime mover(s). Would they do "a Hubbell," ( "roll over one more time for Hillary")? Highly unlikey. Treason is a capital offense. ![]() (viewing movie requires Flash Player 6, available HERE) missus clinton's REAL virtual office update http://hillarytalks.blogspot.com http://virtualclintonlibrary.blogspot.com http://demmemogate.blogspot.com http://www.hillarytalks.us http://www.hillarytalks.org fiendsofhillary.blogspot.com fiendsofhillary.us fiendsofhillary.org fraudsofhillary.com
MEMOGATE MEANS, MOTIVE, OPPORTUNITY... The scheme is more manifesto than memo; it is ludicrous to think that it could have been concocted by anyone other than the clintons. The clintons control the Democratic Party, have impressive presidential-coup field experience (on both ends, spanning three decades), and are beginning to understand that, for reasons ranging from Rudy to rape, they don't have forever to make their move. Hence, the scheme... and the memo. TREASON OR ITS FIRST COUSIN
If the Ds really want their party back, they should make their move now. Someone out there can finger the clintons. He should do it. Now. He mustn't delude himself into imagining that the Invertebrate Party will nail her. That will never happen. (Which, by the way, will cost the GOP votes. We will never again tolerate a party that puts its own power above national security... and that is precisely what the GOP will be doing if it allows a clinton (once again) to remain in office. (Didn't you guys learn ANYTHING from 911???)) ![]() P.S. Note the increase in defensive, diversionary dem mudslinging since the memo surfaced, especially by hillary's Boy in Harlem. Rangel's been on the tube 24/7 calling for Rummy's resignation. That should tell you something about hillary clinton's vulnerability... |
I also had not heard myself about the incident where the Kuwaiti royal family had almost been blown away by a cruise missle while quail hunting, nor that Clinton used to hide Dick Morris in the WH residence for secret consultations because he couldn't trust staffers like Stephanopoulos to know of his (Morris') influence. I mean, I knew Morris and Stephanopoulos hated each other, but I never knew about the hiding part.
All in all, Clinton's reputation continues to sink, and his influence on American election results continues to decline, which makes it all the more astonishing that supposed plugged-in members of the glitterati like Tina Brown can say, as she did recently, that Clinton has "never been hotter."
