The first scene! The first Bloody scene!
Int. Reagan Bedroom -- White House
Mike Deaver
I got a call from John Tower
He wants to talk to you, Mr. President
Reagan is still staring into the tv. Its a cowboy movie.
Nancy
Its okay, Mike. Go on.
Deaver turns to Nancy, lowers his voice
Deaver
(in a whisper)
Theyre beginning to talk about impeachment.
She begins to tremble.
Nancy
Theyll never impeach him.
They wont have the votes for it in the Senate.

If anyone wants to download this to examine it, you can click the right-hand mouse button on the link and choose "Save Target As" from the pop-up menu.
I'm very happy that this one was sent to Showtime, the TV equivalent of Siberia. Reagan is a great man and deserves better.
The only thing that would be better is if they just trash-canned the whole film.

Personally, I don't think we should give them the hits or the attention. I won't be looking at it.

Right after this ecer so subtle it has Nancy speaking of her psychic friend:
Nancy: "Dire events" she said. Well these are dire events.
Deaver: Who said that? Your friend?
Then Nancy goes on to say that she will call her friend to get the date when Reagan should go on TV to speak to the American people about the Iran Contra Affair. She says "We've got to listen to her, Mike. When we don't listen to her we get into trouble."

A complete piece of crap. This is worse than I thought. Just look at any three or four scenes throughout the script. Every single one portrays the Reagans in a terrible way.
It's obvious no research was done at all for the script. The authors just remembered what they could about the Reagan administration and invented all the behind-the-scenes nastiness.

Thanks for the
'Headzup'. After reading your Post #3, I'm gonna skip this.
Not only is this script a poisoned-pen-letter aimed directly at Republicans and Conservatives by hateful, spiteful, vindictive Leftists/Democrats/Liberals/aging, bo-toxed, Anti-American Hollywood Divas, but I can ONLY imagine what the biased actors have done by breathing life into a script like this.
This has been a travesty, and I'm grateful the American people are starting to stand up to the powers-that-be when they try to pawn their psychotic-worldview/crap off on us.

You can say that again. Small wonder why CBS President Leslie Moonves shelved the project, given that it could have resulted in a
HUGE public-relations fiasco for CBS and several prominent advertisers suffering major consumer boycotts at the busiest shopping season of the year.
Moonves may be a close friend of the Clinton family but when serious dollar signs are involved, that overrides all other considerations. "Babs" Streisand may be p***** off but she doesn't have to deal with a financial impact that could run into the many millions of dollars for everyone involved including the advertisers.

I've read 4 pages of this crap and that's all I can stand.
It's a frickin' cartoon caricature....unbelievable.

Deaver (in a whisper) Theyre beginning to talk about impeachment. LOL, only a handful of loons on the left talked about Impeachment like Conyers and Jackson. Just shows you how far left the perspective of this movie is.
To: Always Right
I would bet my house, that if this same group of idiots made a movie about clintoon, they wouldn't even mention the actual impeachment. Yet, it all has something to do with free speech.

Did I read it correctly? Did the script claim that Nancy was pregnant before they married and had an abortion?

Somebody needs to paste the thing here before they get rid of it. I can't -I'm at work.

Oh one more thing: I think an entity no less powerful than the National Football League may have played a behind the scenes role in CBS shelving the miniseries. You forget that CBS will be broadcasting the next Super Bowl game and if CBS had broadcast The Reagans as scheduled it would have resulted in potentially disastrous effects on Super Bowl TV advertising sales, sales that help CBS recoup the cost of producing the Super Bowl.

Top ten lines of "THE REAGANS"
10. Just round them up and have them killed, Nancy.
9. Nancy, TEAR DOWN THAT WALL. I don't care if the $%&*# room can't be called the "OVAL" office anymore. This is our place, now, and you've got a right to redecorate.
8. Round up those others, too. And have them tortured and killed, Nancy.
7. Where's that list of people we're going to kill, Nancy?
6. Who put that half-baked Marine in charge of the Contra thing? Me? Are you sure?
5. I just talked to the VP's kid, GW. What a simpleton.
4. My husband's the President, you fool. And you better shape up or we'll have you killed.
3. They that die by sin shall live by sin. Did I get that right? I'm so confused.
2. Cheney better keep his hands out of the cookie jar on this one...what a greedy B%$%*^#.
1. First ammendment, my *##. Shut down the New York Times.
