In War, Politics End at Water's Edge: Jay's (Rockerfeller) memo is a disgrace.
The Charleston [WV] Daily Mail ^ | November 7, 2003 | Don Surber

Remember Mike Spann? He was the CIA agent who became the first U.S. combat fatality in Afghanistan. He died in a prison uprising.

He was there interviewing members of the Taliban to get information that would save American lives later.

It is called intelligence.

The United States does not use torture to gather it, nor should it. That would be the easy way.

The United States, like Tina Turner singing "Proud Mary," does not do things nice and easy.

We are a nation of laws, not men.

A whole slew of laws in the 1970s made the job of men like Mike Spann less nice and less easy.

But he accepted that. So did his wife, who also worked for the CIA. Their duty was to their country first. Our rights are more secure because of their sacrifices.

Knowing how the United States gathers intelligence — via spies — should make one appreciate that intelligence.

But that is not the case with Sen. Jay Rockefeller. He is the senior Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Upset because his party lost big last year, is losing big this year and will lose big next year, Rockefeller is putting party first, country second.

His staff recently circulated a memo outlining how to conduct a little witch hunt.

The Democratic staff already is cataloguing quotes from administration officials. Democrats plan to pepper the administration with many irrelevant questions early next year, tying up officials in a time of war.

This is using America's intelligence gatherers for opposition research.

That memo is a war sabotage plan - they clearly aim to trade the success of the war for ammunition with which to take down the President in the 2004 election. All Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Commitee should be arrested for conspiracy to commit treason.

The DemocRATS are in their death throes as a viable party.

Breaking the far left major media elite's filter on information has them in panic mode.
Talk radio, Fox News, and the internet have created an incredible renaissance in this country... a true awakening.
Turning the electorate to the right was like turning the Titanic... First, the momentum had to be stopped. It happened in 1994, triggered by "Hillary Care"... "the Clinton Effect"... fueled sleaze, the LIBERAL "Titanic" was finally turned.

Coupling revulsion with knowledge and truth from the above "NEW" media sources has the "RAT" party in total free fall.

The exposed treasonous memo drafted by the Democrats on the intelligence committee is an indication of their terminal situation.

"IT'S ALMOST MORNING IN AMERICA!"

Can't you feel it?

I think this treasonous memo finally woke a few republicans up. Not only are they taking this memo to the mat, they are finally going to put up a fight for Bush's judicial appointments.

Bush's efforts for a "new tone" in Washington, "reaching across the aisle" and bipartisan "sharing of power" just got flushed down the toilet.

And a big hoo-rah for the upcoming battle!
