MoveOn.org and The American Constitution Society are hosting an afternoon event at which AlGore will be the featured speaker. The subject of Gore's speech will be: Freedom and Security
Yessirree, folks. Al Gore, Vice President during the eight year Clinton Administration, will be telling anyone who will listen, how badly the administration of G.W. Bush is infringing on Americans' freedoms, and how much more vulnerable to terrorism we are now, under Bush's leadership.
The DC Chapter invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us as we correct the record for passers-by and attendees.
When: Sunday, November 9
Where: On the sidewalk at DAR Constitution Hall, 18th Street - between C and D Streets, NW
As usual, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Being pure as the driven snow, and beholden to no special interests (GAG!), Mr Gore will speak to the audience on Sunday about how the Bush administration's actions in the War on Terror are "actually a smokescreen that obscures the Administrations fundamental failure to meaningfully protect our national security, and that their efforts have weakened rather than strengthened America." (from MoveOn.org's email to supporters)
All part of the Democrat Game Plan, as documented in their Senate Intelligence Committee memo.
Now's your chance to tell the DemocRATS what you think about their "party before country" activities.
EAGLES UP!
Terry McAuliffe, Tom Daschle, Ted Kennedy, Jay Rockefeller, et.al., long ago declared war on the truth - now is a good time to remind the public that they don't speak for (or to) mainstream America, and that their recent actions and speech are endangering Americans at home and abroad.
With McAuliffe in control of the aparatus and the dwarfs each looking really, really stupid, they need a man on a white horse. It has to be Al, even if they all know he can't win. It will leave it to Hillie to come out of the sewer in 2008.
Remember as you protest him, he WILL BE the dem candidate to face President Bush in 2004!
Dear MoveOn Member,
In June, twenty thousand MoveOn members interviewed each other by phone to help us explore the values underlying our work together. One striking theme emerged: the deep concern Americans have with the Bush administration's attacks on our cherished liberties, in the name of security. Since June, we've been looking for a powerful way to respond to this clear mandate, and when former Vice President Gore asked us to co-host a policy address on Freedom and Security, we jumped at the chance.
You are invited to view this important speech on Sunday, November 9 at 2pm EASTERN by web cast, or on Link TV. In Washington DC, this event will be attended by local MoveOn members and by members of our partner in this effort, the American Constitution Society. Unfortunately, all seats for the event are filled. But we encourage you to tune in this Sunday, at 2pm Eastern, by going to:
http://www.moveon.org/gore/webcast.html
The program will be broadcast live on Link TV, the national television network available on DIRECTV (channel 375) and DISH Network (channel 9410). C-SPAN will likely broadcast the speech as well, as long as another news event doesnt supercede the speech on Sunday.
In this, his third major speech on the Administration's response to terrorism, Mr. Gore will describe the Administration's assault on our civil liberties as un-American and will charge that the Bush/Ashcroft attack on the Constitution is actually a smokescreen that obscures the Administrations fundamental failure to meaningfully protect our national security, and that their efforts have weakened rather than strengthened America.
In August, Mr. Gore delivered a speech sponsored by MoveOn that opened a space for other leaders to speak out against the Bush Administration's deliberate use of false impressions to mislead the nation on war, taxes, the economy and the environment. That speech did nothing less than shift the terms of the national debate, and we expect this speech to have as big an impact.
Again, here are the details:
Al Gore Speaks on Freedom and Security Sunday, November 9, 2:00 pm Eastern Webcast: http://www.moveon.org/gore/webcast.html Broadcast: Link TV and possibly C-SPAN
See you there.
Sincerely,
--Carrie, Eli, James, Joan, Noah, Peter, Wes, and Zack The MoveOn.org Team November 7th, 2003
PS: We're cosponsoring this event with the American Constitution Society. ACS is a national organization of law students, lawyers, academics, judges, and policymakers committed to restoring the values of human dignity, individual rights and liberties, equality, and access to justice to their rightful, central place in American law. Link TV broadcasts to more than 21 million US homes a 24-hour mix of documentaries, international news and critical issues not covered by mainstream media. For more information on rebroadcast times go to www.linktv.org.
We won't be bored. All tickets are gone for the event. We'll be outside protesting and watching out for assaults from peace-loving leftists.
We may not even see Gore. Maybe, if we're lucky Algore will drive or quickly walk by and we can yell "RECOUNT GORE'S CHINESE CASH" or something like that.
Time: 1:00pm
I'll probably get there a little earlier than that, maybe 12:45.
See you there!
tgsl, does 1 pm sound good?
Because the federal government is infested with 'Rats, and the federal house wasn't cleaned when the new tenants moved in. I still don't understand that decision.
