Long time pal of Teddy Kennedy. That's all you need to know. And Sen. Pat Roberts is a "good friend" of Sen. John D. Rockefeller. I'd be more worried about that.

Maybe enviro whackos will listen to one of their own about forest maintenance and fire prevention. Heck, maybe this one can manage to "out" some of the ELF and ALF population.

If you are going to get hyper about every appointment the man makes (actually, the other three he made that you gloss over look ok), then you are in for a lot of grief. If Schwarzenegger only appointed rock-ribbed conservatives, he would get nothing done with the legislature at all. The Democrat pols who actually run the state aren't (all) stupid, they are looking for some signs of moderation, and Arnold is giving them that in these little driblets.

And you ignore all his other appointees. What a loser. Still trying to explain away the new Republican party as conservative I see.
SD, I agree with you, although many Republicans could care less. A few years ago, I thought the first split was going to be on the left. Heck at this rate it could come from the Republican side a lot quicker

So friggin what, she's a FRIEND of Ted Kennedy's? Ted Kennedy shouldn't have any friends? I think you're being a little touchy about this. I am willing to give AS the benefit of the doubt until he does something that proves me wrong. So far, he's done nothing that's been different than what he said he'd do. Conservative on fiscal matters, mod to liberal on social issues. I know the social issues scare you, but like I said, it's better than the crazy lunatic we're getting rid of.

I'm not whining; I'm afraid for the Republic. If Teddy Kennedy gets a foothold here, we're doomed. You must not live in CA or you'd be pitchin' a hissy fit, too.

News Flash: [sarcasm]Governor-elect Schwarzenegger is married to Maria Shriver, Maria Shriver is related to Senator Ted Kennedy. Maria Shriver had the audcity to campagin for her husband Arnold Schwarenegger. In addition she showed up at the victory party, along with other Kennedy relatives as well as registered democrats that voted for Governor-elect Schwarzenegger. Women, Actors and Democrats voting for Arnold, that should tell us something...[/sarcasm}

You Arnold-haters look ridiculous. He appoints Stephen Moore to his economic team, one of the most influential conservatives in the fiscal arena, and you, Saundra, say "no comment."
But, when he appoints somebody he's known for twenty-five years to his team in a nothing job, you scream like a banshee.
As I said, ridiculous.

Saundra, Arnold is smart enough to know that Teddy's politics are a thing of the past. Seems he's playing this very wisely. He needs to get things done and he's throwing everyone a bone. There's nothing wrong with that. The majority of people in the state are moderates, they're not Conservatives.

FOR GOD'S SAKE - she's a friggin' friend of Teddy Kennedy!!!!!!!!! She's a friend of Arnold, first.
Do you know any liberals? Should we throw you over the side because you might know a liberal or two?
Ridiculous, Saundra, ridiculous.

When Schwarzenegger made his victory speech, behind him were NOTHING BUT CHEERING DEMOCRATS, most of them from out of state. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Let's try to give people a chance..... I'm sure not every "friend" of Ted Kennedy is just like the "swimmer".
Let's judge by these people by their actions....

"all the hand wringing is unseemly. Most of the fiscal matters are being headed up by Conservatives, and that's what's most important. No matter what, it's going to be better than what we had before. At least wait until he actually DOES something" Does that mean that we shouldn't be concerned about the TWENTY BILLION DOLLAR BOND ISSUE promoted by Arnold and your so called "fiscal conservatives"...give me a friggin break here! more spending and spending and spending...like we said during the campaign...ya can't be a fiscal conservative and a social liberal at the same time, folks...ya gotta pay the band sooner or later...and a bond issue is just borrowing now and having to pay a ton more later!!!

It apparent from this appointment that Arnold has no intention of relaxing environmental controls on industry and power suppliers.
Without a business environment that encourages new businesses to move to California, it is unlikely that California will share in the improving economy.
