I notice Priest didn't quote the part of the memo that had national security being a secondary consideration...Gee, wonder why the
Post didn't just print the entire contents of the memo so its readers could decide for themselves?
Cause then maybe the readers would be thinking the same thing I am? That this is treason...

Rockefeller, in a released statement, said the memo "was likely taken from a waste basket or through unauthorized computer access." No denial at all, just that it has been discovered. Interesting.

I was surprised the Post mentioned Sean Hannity.
I was not surprised the Post did not mention how the Rats are willing to compromise national security in order to defeat the president.

Hm, The Memo crosses the WaPo's radar screen.
I heard Fox and Friends promo Kit Bond coming up to discuss shortly.

The Dims really stepped on their weenies with this one. Ye Gads they have been doing that a lot.
It hasn't been tabulated, and there is no way to verify it, but I am sure that a significant portion of Arnold's votes were solidified in the aftermath of the "open mike" incident in which the Dims discussed worsening the state's fiscal woes for partisan gain.
This is exactly the kind of crapola that pisses people off the worse. Lying is one thing. Politicians are expected to lie and for the most part, most do. Those who don't are still accused of lying and since most Americans have neither the time or energy to figure out who is lying they generally assume they all are.
But this REALLY stings people. This tells the voters that the Dims are cynically playing them for chumps -- and no one, especially a chump, likes to find out he has been played for a chump.

And notice how this is characterized as a "squabble", kind of a minimizing word.

the memo has not been denied.
They are only sorry they got caught red handed, not about the content of the memo.
Rockefeller must resign over this or the one responsible must resign. A democrat must pay for this.
Remember the democrats are the MINORITY PARTY. They do not control, Republicans need to get over this wimpy club attitude. Politics in the senate is now a full contact blood sport, live with it. (in other words, act like you have some testicles or get out of the way for those who do.)
Where is the majority leader? MIA?
To: Peach
Who wrote the memo, was it a draft or final, who received the memo, and how was the memo obtained. Also, who is being more political, the writer of the memo - or those using it now to bash their opposition?

The spin is breathtaking and begins in the very first sentence.

I have been on the phone with various GOP Senate offices in the last 24 hours. This story is dead. None of the Senators has the backbone to do anything. Everytime I get a person, they say,"Ill pass your thoughts on...."

This article was printed on page A-26 in the Post this morning... I guess this really isn't very significant news according to the geniuses at the Washington Post.

A senior Democrat countered that Republicans had probably stolen the memo from a trash can or a computer file.Translation: Yes, it's real, and we are panicing right now.

Did anybody see ANYTHING on the lamestream news yesterday about this memo? I watched Petah Jennings and saw NOTHING. However, Petah must have been VERY AWARE of the memo since he led off his broadcast with a story (delivered in urgent tones) about some obscure Lebanese businessman who claims that a bigwig Iraqi was willing to let an American disarmament team into Iraq shortly before the war broke out. This turned out to be a complete NON-STORY (nothing much in the news about this today) but it served as a convenient smokescreen for Petah to use to divert attention away from the memo.
Let's see. Petah reports on a non-story about Iraq and completely ignores a major story concerning the memo. Way to go, Petah!

I hope this is getting a lot of play with our brave troops in Iraq. Being used as pawns for the Dems political machinations should enrage a few of them. Can they write to papers and criticize the Senators for this. It isn't like they are the CinC.
It is bad enough that the constant criticisms by the Dems, in particular the Great Bloviator, Ted Kennedy, is giving aid and comfort to the terrorists in Iraq and putting the soldiers in mortal danger. In this time of the internet and satellite television, nobody of any significant brain capacity could deny that the terrorists are watching the Dems create an atmosphere of fear, uncertainty and doubt, and take heart that their efforts are successful in wearing down public support for the war of liberation in Iraq. There is blood on the hands of the Dems here, IMHO.
And no, there has been virtually no coverage in the lamestream media. The NYTimes has a small story today on the bottom of page A12. It is hard to notice, being titled "Republican and Democratic Panel Leaders take feud to floor." You can imagine the rest.

"A barely contained partisan squabble over assessing blame for the apparent failure to find chemical and biological weapons in Iraq broke into the open yesterday when Republican senators said they had a memorandum indicating their Democratic colleagues were preparing a campaign to disparage a Senate committee report on the quality of prewar intelligence before it is even completed. A senior Democrat countered that Republicans had probably stolen the memo from a trash can or a computer file."
Talk about spin.
The very first sentence of the WP article : "...blame for the apparent failure to find chemical and biological weapons in Iraq ...". (it's all Bush's fault.)
And : "Republican senators said they had a memorandum ...". (placing doubt on the authenticity of a document that the Dems have admitted they generated.)
And : "indicating their Democratic colleagues ...". (just indicating I guess. I read it and it was doing a lot more than indicating - it was one of those "plans" that Dems love so much.)
And in the 2nd sentence: "...probably stolen the memo from a trash can ...". (Conjecture is more important than the facts for the WP.)
