Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, aims his double-barrel shotgun while hunting pheasant near Colo, Iowa, Friday, Oct. 31, 2003. Kerry charged Friday that Democratic rival Howard Dean has a history of pandering to the gun lobby by opposing a ban on assault weapons. (AP Photo/Charlie Neibergall)

That's it, he's lost MY vote! Murdering helpless animals like the intolerant fascist that he is.

He doesn't look, well, comfortable with his gun. And do you use that kind of shotgun for pheasant? My word, seems something smaller would do.

No pandering here people. BTW could you IMAGAINE what would have been said in Nov. 1999 if Bush had done this photo-op?

Last time I checked, you only need the international orange for deer hunting...but then maybe it's been too long since I checked.

Well, it's kinda hard to hit, ya now. Now if he saws it off, he'll be guaranteed to hit something.

Interesting that he's using a double barrel. Perhaps he thinks pump action guns look too menacing...

Granted, I have never been pheasant hunting...but when I dove hunted a few years ago, I swore that I put the shotgun up to my shoulder and sighted down the barrel to aim. Not to mention I didn't grab the barrel like he is doing. Jeez!

When hunting pheasant, you do not aim, you point. There is a front bead, but no rear.

Only turkey and deer hunters aim.

As for size, I don't care for the 10 gauge, as being too much of a good thing. The 12 gauge gives a bit of range advantage compared to a 16 or 20 gauge. The 28 gauge is best used for trap and is really pleasant in that role. The 410 is used for training children, and for the occasional pesky squirrel. I am sure that Kerry wants to ban the .410.

No, you don't shoot the 410 at the child, you teach the child to shoot using the 410.

Overheard him muttering:

"Ok, step 1 feet shoulder width apart. Step 2 evenly distribute weight on both feet. Step 4 aim gun. Step 5 pull trigger."

Then you hear him say: "Ow, d**n, I forgot step 3 secure butt of gun against shoulder."
