Is anyone listening to Hannity? He just read a memo from a dem party staffer (i think) on the select committe on intelligence (or some such), which, as he describes it, shows the the dem committe members are pre-planning a political assault on the pres. and care nothing for our security, which is their job.
He's acting like this is the hottest scoop since I don't know what, I'm at work so I'm only 1/2 listening, plus he read the whole thing which seemed to be a least 2 pages long, a little tough to follow being in beaurocrat-speak.
Is this really important? And will this story grow legs?

I'm not trying to argue with anyone here -- but except for the description of the memo by someone, I don't see anything about classified information in the memo. What should I be looking at?
To: GOPJ
Yes, the NewsMax intro mentions using classified information; but then the text of the memo they provide makes no mention at all of classified information. The text does mention using "intelligence estimates which has since been declassified." Where -- in the memo -- do they mention classified information?

This is treasonNo......it is POLITICS and yes, even the release of classified information is considered 'par for the course' in the Political scheme of things. The problem is and WILL REMAIN, that the Republicans do NOT know HOW to play DIRTY like the Gimmies do and thus, Republicans can claim HONOR while getting the crap beat out of them. Our only hope is that the PUBLIC sees through this.

Read this:
A memo circulated among Democrats on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence shows the committee's minority plotting to use classified information against the White House in next year's presidential campaign.

This is a major felony. Call your congressman and senator and demand that this be investigated and the perps punished. What red meat issues the Pubbies will have for 2004.

So, they want to use their position to conduct a which hunt/fishing expedition, and undermine the work of the committee by attaching "additional views" final reports, all in the hopes of establishing an Independent Commission to go after the President and retake the White House.
I'd say that crosses the line...big time.

My intuition, which is pretty good, tells me that this is a big one. Sean is correct about locking down computers and e-mail accounts on those involved, and a full investigation on these committee members in regards to abuse of political power, misappropriation of government funds and whatever else will stick be launched. Sean, if you are reading this, ask Joseph Farrah about the best way to release hard copy to the media, and make it a centerpiece for your Fox News show tonight, and for the next eighteen months. The authenticity of the document(s) needs to be made, and their existence made known to law enforcement agencies namely the FBI. This is serious stuff.

I can't! One of my senators is the Rat on the committee and the other is just as bad.

Any other use of that information violates the principle of "need-to-know". If the intent, is to use information against the president, then it is information that they do NOT "need-to-know", and therefore they are mis-using security information, which is a Federal Violation. Howlin & Miss Marple .. Do you remember when all those leaks were coming out and everyone was wondering who from the Intel Committe was leaking them??

A memo circulated among Democrats on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence shows the committee's minority plotting to use classified information against the White House in next year's presidential campaign. The document, obtained and disclosed by nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity Tuesday afternoon, suggests that the top priority among senior Democrats entrusted with guarding the nation's security is instead driving the Bush administration from power.
PING!!!! This is a serious matter!!!

Listen to Sean show if you're able. To the best of my knowledge at this point, nothing is in print yet. Sean has a memo and he's reading it on air.
He now has Senator Roberts on his show live now. Roberts denies it's a memo from select intell. comm.

What am I missing? I dont' see anything in this report about using classified information. Me neither, but I think that reality has gotten swept up in the onrushing tide. :-(
This is politics as usual IMHO, but there is nothing in the newsmax story implicating anyone of any illegal activity.
