Today is the 24th anniversary of the day that the US Dipolamts in Tehran taken as hostages for 444 days.
The Hard-line Iranian students and militants had demanded the return of the late Shah of Iran, to his homeland to stand trial, who was in the US for intensive medical cares he needed at the time.
A few months later, A group of Special Forces were sent to rescue the hostages but the mission failed.
Finally, The hostages released right after the President Reagan took office in 1980.
Since that time, some hard line militants and students gather in front of the former US Embassy, every year, in Tehran to chant against the USA and its interests.
This short note is written to commemorate the memory of those hostages and the days that American society was concerned about the fate of their countrymen.

We know the regime stages this every year.
It's an organized, sanctioned event.

Thanks for the heads up!

I remember the day they were released! I was in elementary school, and remember saying to my teacher: 'The reason they were released is because they know Reagan will go and get them back.' Thank you, Grandpa, for introducing me to Ronald Reagan at a very young age.

The anniversary of the day the Communist/Socialist-Internationalist traitor, Sayed Jimmah KKKarrtah, started World War Four.
[And he hadn't gotten to giving America's Canal to his predatory Peking-based psychopathologically-hesperophobic pals, yet]

Finally, The hostages released right after the President Reagan took office in 1980. Um, I think Reagan took office in 1981.
Thanks for the post, though.

I cannot believe it has been
24 years! I remember driving to college and some of the students were holding a large "Honk if you think Iran sucks" sign.
Can't believe it's almost been a quarter of a century.

I worked temporarily at the old U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1975, halcyon days, it turns out.
My main man (who is still working in Pakistan today) was at the Embassy the first time the dirtballs took over in Feb 79. One of them was waltzing off the compound with the flag. My man, a full 150 pounds soaking wet, tackled the "student," and relieved him of his burden. After what was left of the team was evacuated - a harrowing ride from the compound out to Mehrabad Airport complete with AK-47-toting teenage "students" - to Rome and onward to CONUS. We met them at the airport in Rome with a case of cold beer. These two guys are normally unflappable, but after that experience, they were clearly shaken. The team chief smuggled out his "jube dog." The Iranian PanAM clerk tried to charge him $750 to send the dog as baggage on to Rome. The chief wrote PanAM a check and the the first thing he did when he got to Washington was put a stop payment order it.
The flag accompanied my man to his next post in southern Africa, where it flew over the Embassy for several years.
