Are they still looking to shop it to Showtime?
If it goes to Showtime, nobody will watch it.
You know, the demographic of hard-core Republican-haters is low-to-moderate income, middle aged and older. Hardly the market segment anybody is interested in attracting.
This thing would have nothing but ads for Prilosec and Viagra! Not exactly usual Showtime fare.

And he'll claim the boycott was his idea, just like the France boycott was.

I hope this is true. Even if they had cut and pasted it, it would have been a monstrous insult to a great man, because the two lead actors were obviously chosen to make the two lead characters look bad, from start to finish.
If true, it's a tremendous victory, one more sign that the media are losing their monopoly control despite ownership of at least 95% of all news and entertainment outlets.

Babs and Mrs. Babs are deeply saddened. I hope they took a big financial hit. Thank God for the internet, talk radio and Free Republic, of course! It's nice to see the good guys win one once in awhile. God bless President and Mrs. Reagan.

It appears SEE-B-S ran this turkey up the flagpole to see who would salute it and all they got was the one-fingered kind.

Showtime is a Viacom network known for being very leftist-friendly. I remember channel surfing and saw a clip from Queer As Folk - my jaw hit the floor.

I hope they do feel that way. It's great when they are really bitter and start to lose self-control.

Quick, how many times is the word "censorship" being thrown about over at DirtyUnderpants.com? :-)

If Showtime broadcasts the movie uncut, they will be open to a severe lawsuit as well.

They can hardly argue that if it was slanderous on CBS, it's somehow not on Showtime, can they?

It's only a partial victory; I hope that Nancy, as Reagan's guardian, sues Viacom for defamation.
