"does nothing to stop Halmark's international distribution of this monstrosity. does nothing to stop viacom's blockbuster from distributing this. CBS will as a producer will market this as a censored movie to austrailia nd europe.
Halmark must pay. "
I totally agree. We are not finished yet!

It's unfortunate that Jason Gould has AIDS, but it was wrong to portray Ronald Reagan as being insensitive to those afflicted with the HIV virus. After Rock Hudson died from AIDS, PresReagan increased govt funding for RD thatw ould lead to an AIDS vaccine. Back in the 1980`s, 90% of AIDS victims were either homosexual or intravenous drug users. Today that figure has dropped to about 65%.

I worked for Showtime 20 years ago. They weren't like this. Cable was young and the shows were just much more entertaining.

...On the FoX News Channel tonight O'REILLY stated the 7 Mins he saw of "The REAGANS" were, to use his words,
.."CRUEL ...and that the American People will not accept a cruel movie about a beloved and dying President and his wife who is caring for him"
Aloha CBS.

From the nuthouse forum:
"The bastards are relentless with their whining. I am so depressed. This has been a lousy week for we Dems. WHY does NOTHING go our way? What the hell are we doing wrong? Why do the repukes always win their battles? I'm so sick and tired of this."
Lots of great stuff over there tonight for schadenfreude lovers.:)

.."CRUEL ...and that the American People will not accept a cruel movie about a beloved and dying President and his wife who is caring for him" Last week O'Reilly read a statement form Mrs. Reagan. She called it cruel. A first class hatchet job, by a bunch of leftwing pukes.

Stop international distribution of this monstrosity.

Well, what do you know? A poster over at DU actually wrote something that made sense! (Well, at least the first part.)

40. Did it?
"CBS, who is in the business of selling advertising, made a strategic decision not to show a documentary. That's not a free speech issue - the documentary will still be shown via another outlet. Not as accessible, true, but that's not exactly the same as the GOP demanding that all copies of it be collected and burned. Nor is it the same thing as forcing something off of public access cable. The producers are free to make the documentary. CBS, as a corporation, is free to choose what it wants to air.
Meanwhile, all the fuss that the whiners put into getting this taken off of CBS will generate tenfold the interest that there would have been for what promises to be a mediocre-at-best documentary (James Brolin?? Is there ANYTHING good with James Brolin in it?) while at the same time gives the American people the realization that the GOP will employ strongarm tactics to intimidate networks when it doesn't like what it sees, the benefits of which are MUCH greater than any revelations about an 92-year-old man who means nothing anymore.
That's MY perspective. I don't care if the GOP runs NFL football off the air, as long as a Democrat is next in the White House."

Quick, how many times is the word "censorship" being thrown about over at DirtyUnderpants.com? :-)
Theres no infinity symbol on my keyboard.

It would seem that the business heads of CBS finally woke up and realized the losses to come in the future...affecting golf, football, baseball, etc. If 10 percent of the nation just said they would never turn on CBS ever again...then advertisers would demand cheaper rates...and that would be the downfall of CBS.

Thanks, I thought so, but was not sure. It appears that Viacom is a nothing but a nasty nest of liberal vipers.

Lest we forget, Viacom owns Simon & Schuster (Schyster),the publishing house that shelled out an $8 million advance to Hitlery for
Lying History. Do you know whether S&S is doing Bubba's alleged book too? Those huge advances might be construed by some as political contributions.
Viacom is taking a huge role in positioning their nine Rat candidates and McCain** for '04 and dissing the Pubbies--if we let them. Good thing CBS caved on this one. Freepers do good work!
**McC should go back to Saturday Night Live with his new RatRap group: BittyDog McC and the Nine Flying Monkeys. "yo cannoh deNY thah we FLY inna face of Ree-A-LITTY in the CITY named DeeCee."
