Amid the many news reports about box cutters being smuggled aboard a pair of commercial jets comes word out of Washington that the chief of the befuddled Transportation Security Administration is being -- yes -- promoted.

As in the worst of federal bureaucracies, leaders with lackluster achievement are given more to do. With TSA chief James Loy, however, we doubt his performance rose to the level of lackluster.

These are the same people who couldn't decide if a Starbucks Frappucino was a drink or food and spend weeks arguing about it (food goes through the x-ray, whereas you can hold a drink as you go through the metal detector)

I love the people in my office who actually argue that because it looks safer it makes them feel better. Any appeals to logic fall on deaf ears.

I say we fire James Loy and replace him with Nathaniel Heatwole. At least Heatwole is showing an interest in making sure the "security" is secure!

I'm sure we all remember the Democrat Senators telling us "that to professionalize, we must Federalize" the baggage inspectors.....

Well, they succeeded...
We now have professional screw ups in many of those positions...
They will continue to screw up, get raises, promotions and a pension that people would really work for a living can only dream about...

Next, I guess we can expect them to Unionize and complete the cycle, and commence funding the "Democrat" party....

In a PERFECT world, "civil servants" at EVERY LEVEL, down to the village level - should be forbidden to unionize.....and their salaries should be the subject of PUBLIC DECISION on the ballot!

Good to see the Peter Principle is still alive and well; even (or is that 'especially') in the current job climate.

Nathaniel Heatwole. He looks kinda like Beaver Cleaver.

"Well geeze, Wally, if a goofy kinda kid like me can smuggle weapons on to airplanes, what's stopping the jihadi's from doing the same?"
