You are correct, many are going to go nuts without the internet and electric.
I hope that people will print off the info that is important for survival and not loose it when needed the most.
Of course, you have to not get carried away, with no storage on this machine, I printed about 50,000 pages over 3 years, so when the day of no electric comes, I will be able to find what is needed in a week or so.
Do go about the real life of living and have fun, it would be a shame to do otherwise.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1053749/posts "Pakistani army launches major operation against suspected terrorists in border region"
Associated Press | January 7, 2003 | PAUL
Posted on 01/07/2004 11:52:13 PM PST by HAL9000
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) -- Pakistan's army launched a major offensive against suspected terrorists in a mountainous region near the border with Afghanistan believed used by al-Qaida fugitives, senior officials told The Associated Press on Thursday.
It was not clear whether any major arrests were made during the operation, said Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. He said more information would be provided throughout the day.
Gen. Shaukat Sultan, the army spokesman, told AP that the operation near Wana, the headquarters of the deeply conservative South Waziristan tribal region, was continuing.
"We don't yet have details about casualties or arrests," he said.
An intelligence official told AP that authorities had received word three days ago that a group of armed men, believed to be foreigners, were in an area called Azam Warsak, near Wana. Tribal elders were contacted and asked the men to surrender, but they refused, prompting the military action.
Troops stormed the compound where the men are believed to be holed up at 3 a.m. Thursday, the official said on condition of anonymity. He said there had been an exchange of fire and that several army helicopters were involved. Soldiers used loudspeakers to urge villagers to leave the area.
South Waziristan is one of the main suspected hideouts for Osama bin Laden and other top al-Qaida fugitives. Officials in the region have said American planes dropped leaflets in the area Wednesday asking residents to cooperate with authorities and turn in any foreign terrorist suspects.
The area is just across the border from the Afghan province of Paktika, one of the main areas of Taliban resistance to U.S. military presence. The ousted militia has staged several ambushes and frequently launches rockets at U.S. military bases in the area, with fighters retreating across the border into Pakistan after the attacks."

You can visit when you get here.
Just pick a spot and move that box of printouts to another spot. Better hurry, or a cat will steal your spot.
Of course all visitors must leave with 3 cats. (the hostesses gift to you.
I took in a tiny feral cat 6 or 7 years ago and now all the cats in the world come to live here. I think that I am a feral cat colony.

By Tom Carter
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Palestinian organizations are refusing to accept U.S. foreign aid this year, rather than sign a pledge promising that the money will not be used to support terrorism.
"This requirement is a worldwide requirement, not just for Palestinians," said Portia Palmer, a spokesman for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). "The majority of the [nongovernmental organizations] worldwide have signed it."
The Palestinian Non-Governmental Organization's Network (PNGO), an umbrella organization comprised of 92 Palestinian aid groups, is urging its members to refuse to sign the pledge."

Did you notice that the poll on Cnn about what to call the illegals is more weighed against Bush than the one at FOX.
The liberal media snookered Bush into thinking they would support this and now he took the bait. Now the media is going to lambaste him. Can't say he does not deserve it. Too bad though. I wish he had paid attention to conservatives. My old friend cal says "Andrew Card said to me personally: "We don't care about the conservatives, they have nowhere else to go.""

"Kenyans on trial for terror attacks"
"Murder charges against the three were dropped in November"
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The trial of three Kenyans charged with plotting to bomb the US embassy in Nairobi has opened.
They are accused of "conspiracy to commit a felony" over the blast which killed 213 in 1998 and of plotting to blow up the new embassy last year.
They are also charged with involvement in last year's suicide bombing of an Israeli-owned hotel near the resort of Mombasa, which killed at least 12.
The al-Qaeda network has said it carried out the 1998 embassy bombing."

Al Qaeda Still Recruits In U.S. Jails
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1053758/posts WASHINGTON Despite a government crackdown, Al Qaeda continues to recruit members in U.S. prisons.
U.S. officials said Al Qaedas recruitment has been facilitated by Muslim clergy with access to federal and state prisons. They said the organization has succeeded in winning new members despite tighter rules instituted by authorities since the Al Qaeda suicide attacks in September 2001.
Officials said Muslim chaplains have facilitated Al Qaeda recruitment. They cited the case of Warith Deen Umar, the administrative chaplain for the New York State Corrections Department, said to have preached that the Al Qaeda suicide attackers who killed more than 3,000 Americans were heroes.

Thanks Fair Opinion for posting that article.
Yep.
Low lifes (from street type gang-bangers, organized crime to jihad types) recruiting in the prison system has been pretty well documented over the years.

OK here we go: There were a bunch of original EOs that were very blunt in stating how the government would take over just about every aspect of our daily lives. Some of those are:
10995,
10997,
10998,
10999,
11000,
11001,
11002,
11003,
11004,
11005,
11051.
These were consolidated by Nixon into Executive Order 11490 (I can't find the text of this on any "offical" website, can anyone find it?), so that these measures could be put into place by any president if we were under a "national emergency". (Extra credit: How many times has a national emergeny been declared? Have the emergencies been revoked?)
EO 11490 was eventually revoked, but it has been resurrected in EO 12919. The language in 12919 has been toned down, but it essentially does the same thing as the previous EOs. Please look at 12919 carefully, as it is currently in effect. Pay close attention to Section 201, which gives the cabinet heads lordship over various domains in our society. Also look at Section 601, where civilians can be appropriated to work for the government. This is just the tip of the iceberg, I'm sure there's a lot more out there for someone to find if they did some more digging.
Don't take my word for it, please look for yourself.

Thanks for the ping! I heard this issue mentioned briefly on Fox today (actually yesterday). The problems this country faces are so interwoven and overlapping that it's mindboggling! It took years to get into this situation and may take forever to unravel.

Not sure if it's still the case or not but Egyptair used to continue that flight all the way to LAX and then return it to CAI via JFK. Would have to check and see if it's still the case or not.
To: Calpernia
I don't understand what codeshare is. codeshare:An airline may list as one of its flights, a flight actually operated by another airline which acts as a subcontractor for the major airline. For example, American airlines lists Alaska Air as a code-share. It allows an airline to book flights to places that it doesn't actually fly
