Oh no doubt I heard a mother on GMA yesterday and she also said family members need to be heard on what they wanted, just as you said.

John Loftus on now. Explaining how he gets information, he only reveals information that he knows will eventually be placed in the public domain, trying to explain why he was talking about dirty bombs in mid December.

Thank you so much for the ping! Indeed, there are way too many hold-overs from the Clinton administration - and too much of a "politically correct" attitude throughout the intelligence community as a result of various policy changes. The country needs solid, reliable intelligence to support the hard decisions that have to be made at this time.

we would go to red immediately, NJ would be locked down, and there would be teams searching potential hiding spots for the nukes at likely areas in the state (mosques, self storage facilities, muslim communities like Paterson, etc). they would be kicking down doors to find these cells with the weapons, taking people in for questioning (torture), NJ would look like an episode of "24".

Thanks, Cindy, for CDC link. TB coming in from Mexico concerns me...I've read that it has made an appearance in the Tex/Mex border towns and is moving north. What next?!

and I will add, NJ isn't even running checkpoints on the bridge crossings into NY. nothing, no trucks being stopped for search, zip, not even one police car at the outerbridge, goethals.

what can they say? the threat is not LIKELY, its POSSIBLE. they sent NEST teams to 5 cities over new years, they came up with nothing, should they have caused panic in those 5 cities by pre-announcing it?

Yep. If it comes out that NEST is out looking for loose nukes, then we should know (IMHO of course).

There's too much damned tiptoing through the tulips going on here. If AQ is threatening nukes...come out and TELL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Let us plan. Let's take action. And let's go find the things.

In the Yuma Daily Sun this morning there was a small story about two young women who were caught at the immigration inspection station on I-8 near Winterhaven, CA, (just across the Colorado River from Yuma) with a sizable quanity of ricin or the main components for ricin.

Got to be joking?! Yeah, President Sir, let 'em in!!!

Did find this online from YumaDS: 24 illegals nabbed on Interstate 8 Jan 7, 2004 Twenty-four illegal aliens were detained and two smuggling suspects arrested Monday night after U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped a tractor-trailer on Interstate 8 west of Yuma. All of the immigrants were from Mexico and two were children ages 9 and 11, the Border Patrol said. Twenty-one of the immigrants were found hidden within a load of wooden pallets in the trailer of the 1997 Peterbilt truck, while three others were found in the sleeper compartment, the Border Patrol said. The aliens were found as agents assigned to the checkpoint were conducting an immigration inspection of the truck at about 10 p.m. The checkpoint is located in the westbound lanes of the highway west of Winterhaven. The driver, a 29-year-old man, and a 19-year-old female passenger, both U.S. citizens, were being held Tuesday on felony smuggling charges. Their names were not released

where do you live that you are so concerned about this? manhattan?

Detroit. NEST was here, according to Wash Post.

But I am more worried about fallout from reactor hit or "big mama" (Megaton+) nuke in Chicago or NYC.

CG my friend good to see you as always!

I watched the second half of Chris and Hardball and what they said about immigration just made me more upset. I try to watch Dobbs and Joe, but since the threat level was raised and illegals and terror go hand in hand, I spend hours on these right now

re your post no. 7594 you said in part, "Campuses are a hotbed of activity including recruitment and fundraising."

At least since the 1930's.

Wow...had no idea it went that far back. But, I just started reading "Bin Laden: The Man Who Declared War On America" by Yossef Bodansky. Finished the Introduction and already I'm seeing a worldview I had no idea even existed and it goes way, way, way back. It is very startling.

Oceanview - yeah, you'd think so..wouldn't ya.

However..as strange as this might sound..I think politics and the anticipated impact on the economy interfere with good judgement on these things.

I think there are those close to Dubya who tell him that they think they can find them and take care of this "little" threat. No need to alarm the Sheeples and cause a market/economic meltdown - especially not in an election year!

I just hope they are right, and they CAN find them in time.

Granny, you did the same thing for me. I made plans with the only family I have contact with that is close. My daughter/grandkids are three hours away and actually safer where they are than me. And Bird your right! Granny what a welcome addition you are to this thread! An inspiration and help immediately!

How do I motivate my family when they think I'm a 'conspiracy nut' just for being on FR?!

Tell them what I am, should something like a meteroite, earthquake, power outage, something plausible, should it happen here is what we should do. No need to tell disbeliever's why, just to be prepared and do!

Couldn't a terrorist, after practice, get his bomb together while lying in the dark in a first class seat with his eyes closed?

I suppose it could be done, however overall very difficult, given the darkness and chance of being caught by the crew or an adjacent passenger. Richard Reid didn't even have enough time to set off his shoe bomb while sitting before being caught, let alone another scumbag terrorist trying to assemble an entire bomb. The bathroom would provide light and complete privacy and would most likely be the site to assemble any bomb, Heaven forbid.
