[history]
Monday, November 3, 2003
A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

I don't think a 12 gage is hard to handle and I'm a average size woman. My husband fixed one up for me with a (gun people here will probably say I'm getting the terminology wrong!) hard plastic short stock/grip, so that makes it lighter, and a little red laser light. Besides, if you had to use one in a defensive manner your adrenaline would be going and you wouldn't be thinking about the weight. That would also apply to the kick. Since it's a shotgun (long barrel) the kick is less than a high caliber handgun (short barrel). But, no, I don't think it's heavy or cumbersome at all. I am also biased because I love to shoot. We live way out in the sticks and shoot all the time; it's a great hobby.
Best thing to do is for you and your husband to go to a gun shop and see how they feel to you.
As far as gun safety, which is the first thing you want to learn, call your local NRA chapter and ask them for a list of NRA certified dealers. The NRA has a website which would probably list your local NRA chapter. They could also fill you in on the laws in your state and recommend reputable dealers and a good shooting range.
Freepmail me (don't want to get the thread off track) with more questions if you like.

They hashed all that out, in length, several thousand posts ago. Check out about 2000, along in there, for all that information. It was important and interesting. Hope this helps.

Hum, could that uneasy, edgy feeling be because there is a possibility the sleeper cells have been activated? We are doing laundry around here. If we have to Jihad, we want to be clean.

For what it's worth, I plugged in 19/19/19/23, and these were the terms associated with the picture:
terms [2] l'ombrello e la macchina da cu
[2] afganistan+samadzaei
[1] chaled
[3] inahosam
[1] (mali)
[2] metalplastic
[2] 19/19/19/23
Googled "chaled" and the first entry was this:

As an aside, there is a "jihad falcon" who is a poster on several deep jihad forums. We've followed his posts for the last year or longer. Had a number of "hits", recently linked to the "NY Next image."
BTW, the proper authorities are aware of this and should be following it in real time.

SOmebody needs to contact that Pretty Good Privacy, MIT fella, and decode that last msg. IMHOI've wasted the last hour trying to decode it. Tried using "Jihad Falcon" and all the other words from EOM's messages as a passphrase. Probably need a month on a supercomputer to break it... but who knows, I have a feeling these guys aren't rocket scientists.

I'm sorry, this is just way too convenient---it's a farse.Give me a break.

Thanks for posting that Calpernia. I had read that quite some time ago but needed to be reminded. I must admit that FEMA has always made me nervous. I don't like the idea of any gov. agency having that much power and control over the people. BUT, I defer to you folks who live in large cities. I would like to know what you think of the FEMA plans.
My views are "skewed" because I live in a very rural area, we raise our own beef and chickens, and have enough supplies to last for probably 2 years. If FEMA came out here and tried to round us up I would fight them tooth and nail. As a city-dweller, how do you feel about their plans?
(I need a different perspective than my own)

See post 7110. I copied and pasted and got the site. EOM posted something that I surely cant figure out. Seems like a lot of work for nothing.
