"He said it was unprecedented threats coming from AQ, calling for the complete destruction of America and total annilation of at least, one American city"

Although there have been reports that Homeland Security has been able to prevent (locate perpetrators) of attacks, the above statement pretty much makes me understand why there haven't been several Israeli like cafe, mall, bombings here in America. Al Quaeda understands that small terrorist acts won't change US Policy, but rather increase involvment in the Middle East. They are saving up for their "last hurrah!" and plan to inflict major damage to the US. But as I drive around the vast expanse of our country, it would be difficult to annihilate our country. At the worst, they may be able to kill several hundred thousand and even to the low millions, I just can't see how they can kill all of us. I'm not saying it's impossible, but there is no way they have enough nuclear weapons to destroy every major US city. Unless somehow they were able to buy and smuggle 1 to 10 megaton city busters from Russia or China, I just don't see them having the capability of producing such weapons. Plus there would be no way to hide the quantity and size of bombs needed for such operation without some intelligence slip-up on their part.

The only weapon remaining is some form of effective bio or chemical weapon. If there is a bio-weapon, then they are condemning themselves as well, for it would not be contained within this country. Chemical - again, the amount needed to do the damage they wan't couldn't possibly be concealed or unnoticed.

As a result of an attack, our economy may be shot to pieces, and all of our 401k's may be zero balanced, but continuity will occur. We can rebuild, and most of all, our response capability may be tested, but we will still have most of our weapons.

Interesting days ahead....

>>>Natural disaster happen, and hopefully people are aware, and can cope till help arrives. That is a taught reaction, it does not come easy to Americans.

I'm extremely annoyed with this statement. Since I don't want to take this thread off topic, I am going to ignore it.

I think it is SAFE to assume you don't live in the tristate area. Coping came very easy for us.

Here's a snip of the article re: UN resolution 223 and flight 223.

Heathrow terror puzzle

BA223 cancelled for second day running
· Tension between US and British authorities
· UN resolution may be at heart of alert

Precisely why BA223 to Washington is being targeted is a mystery. The persistent warnings suggest that some conversation between al-Qaida supporters has been overheard, or a message intercepted. One theory in aviation circles was that the threat to flight BA223 might relate to UN general assembly resolution 223 passed in 1997, which attacked the Israeli treatment of Palestinians on the occupied territories. The resolution, which is among several UN declarations regularly cited by Arab states, condemned Jewish settlements on the West Bank and the Gaza strip as "illegal" and "a major obstacle to peace".

I agree and know that those of us remaining will fight those Jerks to the bitter end. I am not overly fond of N.Y.C. or New Yorkers in general, but I fully intend and desire for them to go about being their obnoxious selves, until the end of time. In fact, over the past 3 years, I've grown rather fond of them, in some instances. Except for their electing Hillary and interfering in Florida elections, I'd be real fond of them, at certain times. It was an uplifting and heartening sight watching them all team out of those buildings during the recent blackout.

Ah well, I ramble, but it seems OBL et.al., have the biggest grudge for NYC and DC. I think it's most likely NYC,they intend to nuke, since they wanted to use BA to hit the Capitol, in a firebomb/suicide thing. I'd expect them to use the Libyian germ bombs on the West Coast.

I didn't see alcholic beverages on your list. Just prior to the earthquake in 1994 my parents had bought cases of champagne for my sister's wedding. That little stockpile came in very handy in the aftermath of the big quake. I am not suggesting people get drunk and stupid should something bad happen but I think a good stiff drink would be in order.

I just came across this.

EmergencyNet News - Intellegence Info Warns of Likely WMD attack on CONUS
05 Jan 2004

Intelligence Information Warns WMD Chemical Attack Likely

WASHINGTON, DC: The U.S. intelligence community remains concerned that a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) attack using chemical weapons will be launched against CONUS (Continental United States) in the near future, with small, well-defined and easily accessible targets most at risk.

In various reports, the intelligence community has noted that for many Middle Eastern terrorist groups, the use of WMDs are no longer considered a last-resort option and could be used at any time the desired effect of a WMD is needed.

In the past, the use of chemical weapons in particular have resulted in limited casualties. Adulterated sarin gas was used in the 1995 Tokyo subway system attack resulting in limited number of deaths and several thousands sickened.

Despite British think-tank assessments to the contrary (1) ERRI senior analyst Clark Staten said that no lesss than Usama Bin Laden himself has previously condoned the acquisition and deployment of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).(2) Staten said that documents recovered at Al-Qaeda safe-houses and training bases in Afghanistan suggest a strong interest to obtain and use Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, and Radiological (CBRN) weapons. To make matters worse, Staten said that the convergence of WMD's and the increasing use of "suicide homicide/suicide" attackers is likely to increase the threat of some sort of use of CBRN weapons.(3)

U.S. intelligence believes that, if given the chance, Al-Qaeda would take the opportunity to use CBRN agents. Many experts agree that problems still exist for terrorist groups to deliver chemical agents to their targets, but they also agree that an attack on
CONUS was still likely in the near future regardless.

According to the FBI, various Palestinian, Islamic groups and extremist groups within the U.S. and Europe are most likely to use chemical weapons. Similar groups in South America and Western Europe were unlikely to do so, intelligences sources told
EmergencyNet News.

In order of likelihood of occurrence (as determined by an ERRI WMD threat assessment) :

1> Conventional Explosives
2> Chemical
3> Biological
4> Nuclear**

This was an audio tape. Binnie said that a **VIDEO** tape would follow an attack ;-)

Good point. Had forgotten that. Have been listening to msnbc just now, one of their analysts says this tape was definitely ObL, that it was "studio quality tape", and it sounds like him.

I have changed from thinking he was blown up a year or 2 ago, to now thinking that the reason he doesn't show his face on tapes is that he's possibly had some surgery to alter his appearance, or else has just altered it in smaller ways, and doesn't want us bad infidels to know what he looks like, till the end, when he is going to martyr himself in the belly of the eagle, which means he will have to get here somehow to do that, without being spotted.

And when it doesn't matter anymore, then the video of him will come out.

When you go here:

http://www.goexcelglobal.com/images

you see a listing of pictures, graphics, and audio files that seem compiled by company employees. Some kind of communications company. Your posted photo appears here, but has the rather undescriptive title of "892137470". Seems completely innocent to me. There are 2 files with the name Calpernia. One of the pictures, can't remember the title, shows someone wearing a burka made out of an American flag. I'm assuming that was just a rather "politically incorrect" halloween costume. The photo's date was in November, 2003 ( I think.)

LOL you back to that again. I will add the "s" for you.

Natural disasters happen, and hopefully people are aware, and can cope till help arrives. That is a taught reaction, it does not come easy to Americans.

As far as the statement, ask anyone in Florida (South) how many people, "friends or otherwise", how many people were having Hurricane Parties before Andrew hit.

It is just a fact, Americans like their play. Don't you?
Because I can sure find alot of neat, and awe inspiring things to do.

LOL. I don't know which "Americans" YOU know, but lemme tell ya about mine. There is NOTHING, they can't and won't do, to survive and WIN. Caps for emphasis, not yelling. It's obvious you and I do not travel in the same circles, not that I ever thought we did. :)

In WW2, most troops were green, young, certainly never been shot at. The Country was at peace. We rose to the occasion, fought back, saved ourselves and alot of other folks too. I'm using just this example, because until 9/11, it's the only other time an enemy attacked us directly. EVERYBODY I personally know, is still so dad gummed angry about those last AQ attacks, until there is no real way to tell just how bad our reaction will be, if we are hit again.

I think you watch too much tv, showing namby-pamby crybabies, featured by the media during natural disasters. Look behind them, sometime, and notice the water trucks, the chainsaw operators, the guys patrolling and protecting, etc., the builders, the life makers and the life takers. You might be amazed to find the American spirit alive, well and resourceful.

I will agree with you on this one thing. Americans do love life, love our work, love to play. We also love our Country, mostly, and love each other, mostly.

Thought maybe you needed to hear these things. :)
