[history]
Monday, November 3, 2003
A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

We just noticed the last week the newest buzz word "chatter". Where did that come from? I know it used in association with terrorist chatter. But it is reletively new for the talking news heads.
Wouldn't surprize me if it was swiped off of FR and now in the mainstrean media. Just curious.

re post no. 3442...
It's not a new term...it's been used at least since 9-11 by the media (that I'm aware of) and long before that by agencies that monitor "chatter."

FOX NEWS.com: "Holiday Security Ramped Up for High Alert"
Wednesday, December 24, 2003
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "WASHINGTON With airport security tightened as the Christmas holiday quickly approaches, the government is increasingly focused on the vulnerability of cargo planes as it responds to intelligence indicating Al Qaeda(search) might use aircraft to strike targets far from major cities, including power plants, dams and oil facilities."

Hmmm. That's interesting. I seem to picking up on alot of things lately that I never noticed. We we're watching a Jesus (crucifiction) movie tonight from the 60's/70's and one of the disciples yelled to another "Hey wait a minute" I turned to my son and said "uh they did not have minutes in those days" we both cracked up.

oh give me a fricking break... you're proposing that AQ would give a rip about a mall. No terror cell has EVER targetted malls. They don't give a rip about Levi Jeans, Polo shirts, or the latest perfume counter color scheme.
They want to hit strategic targets, not a handful of holiday shoppers.

MH can you make heads or tails of all this? He's full of used food. If he flew into Metro Wayne (it's highly unlikely that he came into Detroit City; there are no airlines flying into DET - he had to come into DTW), he would have had to get on either 94 (which is torn up six ways to Sunday, still) or 275/696 (most likely) to get to West Bloomfield. From there, he could take 75 north. It's more likely, though, that he'd get off on Telegraph Rd. from 696 and go north.
If memory serves (I was last up there a year and a half ago), there are several golf courses in that part of Oakland Co., but I don't recall any horse farms there.
There's heavy construction up there - plenty of newer subdivisions.

Isn't Rappahannock Co., VA where the Mt. Weather complex is?

Following that inference, Kennebunk comes to mind. Hopefully it's come to the authorities' minds too! I imagine it's being pretty well guarded.
Though there's word that a small town in VA. is the target in the East, they've also said it could be that several small towns could be attacked. Just to make the point that NO one is safe.
We can only hope nothing happens but the way things appear, whatever they've heard is being taken VERY seriously.

They want to hit strategic targets, not a handful of holiday shoppers.I guess you don't think they want to hit sports stadiums either. [shrug]
I still say that larger shopping areas are legitimate targets; as are all the other areas we've discusssed. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

if something went off in this lot alone, we're talking a few thousand dead! Same with the subways. Several subway cars backed up under a tunnel after a conventional or chemical attack underground would trap thousands.

Hmmmmm, I didn't know about Sean David Morton in '94 but I have several audio tapes I recorded in '98. Might be worth going back to listen to them, see if he said anything along these lines at that time. I always found him interesting to listen to.

Please pray for the safety of all our uniformed personnel (Military, Law Enforcement, EMT's, etc.) over the coming days. Been praying and will certainly continue to do so.
As time goes on, the seriousness of the situation becomes more and more apparent.
