Rural gatherings? Boy, that's a stumper!

I am trying to think of what would qualify as "rural gatherings."

NASCAR is over. State fairs aren't until next summer. Most religious outdoor meetings won't happen until spring.

What in the world would qualify in this category?

I started to get an idea that this was some kind of harmless report on the 'insurgency' in Iraq - Filename is Jihad_ency.zip. Since it is in PDF format and contains many different fonts the formatting is all messed up by the time I get it into a form that I can run through Tarjim - I get nothing but gibberish when I try running it through a machine translation. It is also interesting that the document is 720 pages which is in line with Daleel's 700 page word document which I still have not been able to download. I actually sent a message to Daleel and asked him to post it to a site with more bandwidth, he replied asking me if I could host the file for him. I haven't responded, I don't need that kind of attention from the feds. ;) Now I am wondering if I should pull it off my website.

Harrisburg (PA) has a statewide Farm Show in January - big event, perhaps tens of thousands in an indoor arena complex, but not exactly rural (unless you're comparing it to NYC or some large metropolis) . . . Hershey has a large new indoor arena for hockey, concerts and various shows (the park itself is closed for the season) . . . State College has the same (PSU on break right now) . . .

The only east coast gathering I can think of within the next two weeks (with the exception of New Year's Eve in Times Square) is the Philadelphia Mummer's Parade on Jan.1. Would Al Quaeda insult Philadelphia by calling it "rural"?

I don't like the thought of SA and its oil controlled by the nutcases.

Over on memri.org they've posted numerous translations of the Islamist agenda, and it's exactly that, get rid of the House Of Saud and take over the oil (though that's really secondary to reestablishing the Caliphate).

First, though, they have to get rid of us, because they know we'd protect the oil and the Sauds.

Assuming they can get us out of their way (and they not only assume it but believe it as prophecy), they'll then take Constantinople and Rome, which apparently is another part of the prophecy in the Koran. Then all of Europe, which they actually believe is theirs because they conquered it (almost) once before.

Israel is rarely mentioned, they evidently believe its a foregone conclusion they'll get it back.

Finally, right now the Islamists are having a little debate about attacking the House Of Saud, the consensus is "why bother" until America is dealt with.

Do you remember the fire Newark Airport had on 9/11 too? We never heard any more on that either.

Likelight, you have posted a couple of interesting ideas. I am unfamiliar with things going on out east, so I will bow to your knowledge.

Palladin, see LikeLight's post above for some ideas.

Calling Philadelphia rural would be quite a stretch . . . it may be a lot of things, but rural it ain't . . .

The article you posted a link to is quite disturbing.

SInce it's an MSNBC article, it's excerpted, but it's worth reading the actual article.

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3775771/

NBC: Terror threat to extend through January

Officials say al-Qaida operatives may be fully trained airline pilots

Authorities raised the terrorist threat assessment over the weekend after new intelligence indicated that operatives of Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida terror network, possibly trained and licensed to fly passenger jets, may now be pilots for some foreign airlines, ideally positioning them to carry out suicide attacks, U.S. officials told NBC News on Monday.

Reinforced cockpit doors intended to thwart hijackers after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks would now protect any terrorist pilot at the controls, the officials said on condition of anonymity.

Al-Qaida may have dirty bomb
New intelligence indicates that al-Qaida remains intent on attacking large gatherings of people with chemical or biological weapons, official said. They said law enforcement agencies were looking closely at two rural locations — one in the East and the other in the Southwest — that were believed to be high on the terrorist target list.

Most troubling, the officials sad, were indications that al-Qaida may already possess a radiological weapon, or so-called “dirty bomb.” They did not elaborate.

Some might consider that an insult to "rural". :)

People keep ignoring the Rose Bowl and Rose Parade -- when in fact thousands people are out there -- and it's all televised.

Re-reading the MSNBC exerpt . . . I'm wondering if the sentences in the one paragraph are really connnected . . . chem/bio mentioned, then rural targets . . . since they didn't mention nuke, I was excluding TMI . . . but now I'm suspecting these might be unrelated factoids stuck in the same paragraph for convenience . . . always TMI stands out as the most obvious rural target in the East, just because of it's worldwide notoriety . . .

Do you consider Pasedena to be a rural location in the Southwest? I don't, but I won't argue if the locals do.

A close friend of mine revealed to me that FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) has been put on it's highest state of alert ever.(other than a natural disaster) He holds a supervisory position within DHS. (No secrets given away here)

Leave and vacations of key people have been cancelled effective immediately.
The mainstream media has not yet picked up on this.

Preparations for disasters in several cities are complete. This is not a drill. Feds are anticipating something big within the next days to weeks.

They know much more than what is being said.

I am only putting this out here so that fellow Freepers (including those who seem to think that this has a humorous side) get the message.

"AN ATTACK TO RIVAL OR EXCEED 9/11 IS ANTICIPATED"

Be safe and Vigilant!!
