I ask God sometimes .."Why did you invent this vile medium? Television! What has it done for any of us???" Its laid waste the morals of our last two generations. Shown us the hate and greed of the world and its dictators-not to mention the politicians that run our country. Sex, violence and complete disregard for what this great nation stands for.We've seen freedom rants in China, fires in California and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Wars, famines, diseases and Princesses in full regalia. Violence in Iran, Iraq, Israel and among the Palestians. We are shown the Reagan family in their supposed full dysfunctional glory. Murders, death, mayhem, riots...Viet Nam, assassinations, burning towers and our loved ones and heroes vanished into thick black air. Why God, this medium that is so relentless in its contempt for facts, faith and love for humankind???Where is the relevance??????? I answered my own question tonite--God invented TV so that we may boycott when we wish--That so called Reagan movie (that bears no resemblence to the man we all love and cherish)and as I listen and remember the beautiful music from "Lonesome Dove". God invented TV so we may keep people like RR in our hearts forever and that "Lonesome Dove" will always be the example that other movies/mini series may follow.
