This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

If you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

I think the ACLU is oversimplifying the issues here. Jeb Bush did not overturn a judicial decision becsuse her disagreed with the outcome, he intervened to protect a class of citizens who stand to be put to death by unscrupulous guardians under the premise that the "right to die" must be protected over the "right to life" when there is no living will and the family members are not in agreement.

The ACLU has a weak case if this is the best they can put forth. The right to life, as outlined in the Declaration of Independence, trumps Michael and Felo's misguided "right to kill" garbage - and it's not lost on me that he was instrumental in getting that "right to die" stuff codified.

Schiavo has had more loopholes work in his favor than has I presume his favorite president: W.J.B. "Clinton." This man is a textbook case of lucky breaks in the pursuit of evil.

Courts do NOT consider anything in the Declaration of Independence in reference to modern interpretation of "law." Sorry to disappoint you, but the courts have forgotten Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Livingston, and Sherman there.

Maybe it's time to FReep Washington and ask for a nation-wide moratorium on dehydtration death, where there is no living will and the family members disagree.

I see a need for a law passed to protect what I *thought* was an inalienable right - the right to life over death.

This man has so blatantly violated the covenant of marriage before God that he long ago lost the right to call himself Terri's husband.

Yes, you just made the point that characterizes the liberal community: "the ends (death) justify the means (recognizing the marriage bond)." Even though liberals claim to abhor that famous dictum, they use it to forward popular liberal ideas. Why can't the people of FL AND the USA see?

Absolutely, Demers has virtually said that he considers this law unconstitutional, and he is expecting a decision soon, and therefore "Dr." Wolfson won't have to finish is guardian ad-litemship.

There has been nothing said about Schiavo not paying child support for the child conceived in either 1989 or 1990. An earlier poster said he was paying child support. I would suspect that he may have dropped behind in payments, considering the nature of the man. This is another instance of how in the Age of Clinton ethics has ZERO bearing.

They lived in an apartment; apartment renters cannot get homeowners' insurance, can they? Or is "renters insurance" just a form of homeowners'? When I lived in an apartment, I never had renters' insurance, never thought about getting it. But I have always otherwise had homeowners' insurance.

Same here Saundra. And I think, too, of Gideon. God has always used the weak and the "foolish" to confound the wise in the world. I am so thankful that we have the support and the faith of one another to keep us mindful of that.

Why is there outrage that Schiavo said on Larry King that he had also dehydrated and starved both of his parents? He claimed that dehydration was the second most painless way to die -- after an aneuryism. Yes, he said that, and no one blinked.

Is there no pressure on the Morton Plant Hospital to remove him as an emergency nurse. One would think that Pinellas Co. residents would be complaining to the hospital about this kind of "nurse." Of course, I bet he would love for Morton Plant to fire him: another big civil suit would go forth?

Might I respectfully make a suggestion that you use higher contrast between the background color and the font color. Even with the larger font size, I am finding it very difficult to read the black on dark red, even with my glasses, and my vision isn't THAT bad.

The 14-year-old was confirmed by a letter writer to the St. Petersburg Times who was a friend of Terri's before the collapse. Apparently, the newspaper refused to print her allegation. Larry King did not even know that he had this first child by Jodi, much less the 14-year-old.

I would imagine that the St. Petersburg Times is very careful about what it prints for fear that Schiavo would sue it for libel. He would probably say that he is NOT a "public figure" under the law and seek big damages there too.
