Here's a piece of the LKL transcript:

It sounds from this as if she fell in an area downstairs from the bedroom---or perhaps fell down the stairs. Note he says "I went DOWN" to get her. Maybe that's why everyone overlooked the injuries, it was assumed she was bruised in the fall, but the major concern was the life-threatening cardiac arrest.
Yet if that's so, that she could have fallen down stairs, why hasn't he said so, attributing the injuries to the fall?
None of which absolves him of 10 years of neglect and abuse.

I learned a LONG time ago that I couldn't even keep up with little "white lies." Several episodes over my Dad's knee finally convinced me.
They lived in an apartment. Were there stairs in the apartment? It is kind of unusual, although possible. It seems that if that were the case it would have been mentioned, though, if for no other reason than it would make the HINO look less guilty. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find out. Someone at the vigil could simply ask Bobby (who lived in the same apartment complex).
