"Mystic River" is a feel nothing go nowhere movie that never needed to be made.
I haven't seen it, but that is what everybody who have seen it has told me.
It's a lose lose movie for all those that saw it.
Wait a year and see it for free on regular TV. It's a loser.

I have always liked and admired Eastwood even before I read somewhere that he is a conservative. But there is no way that I will ever view anything starring Sean Penn and -- isn't Tim Robbins also in Eastwood's latest flic?
We gave these a$$holes the platform they stand on to speak, and we can damn well take it away from them.

I saw it, and I thought it was very good. Fantastic performances from the entire cast. Please, see a movie before you label it a "loser". I know most Freepers won't be interested in it because of Penn and Robbins, but that doesn't mean it's not a good movie.

Penn made a controversial three-day "fact finding" trip to Baghdad last winter.
Yes, and I've been waiting for him to go back and find more facts....

Baseball fan, one of the people who at lunch just today went out of their way to tell me what a lousy horrible film this was happened to be an ex-Angels ball player, so it must be so! LOL
Killing the wrong people for crimes doesn't come off ad a great film, and it was extremely predictable and short on anything entertaining to anybody I know who watches a lot of movies.
I was convinced to not even ever rent it and to wait for TV.

We try not to give our money to a-hoes like Penn and Robbins. Send the $10 to the Scouts.

I like Eastwood, but I really never will watch a movie that would put a dime in Penn or Robbins's pockets again. I know others far less conservative than me that have said the same.
For my part, call it "Avenging Tailgunner Joe". Sure, the government can't blacklist them (not that it ever actually did) but I sure as hell can. And so can my "fellow travellers".

Yes, and I've been waiting for him to go back and find more facts.... How 'bout if he goes back, just to FIND some facts???

No problems here. For what it's worth, it's not an entertaining film, but I found the movie to be engrossing and, yes, depressing. Very dark subject matter. I also thought the performances were fantastic. But anyway, it's none of my business what movies anyone else watches, so no big deal.

As I said in #17, no problems with Freepers who boycott such films. But I enjoy watching movies and I don't let the politics of who's in the movies get in the way of me watching them. That's my decision, and I respect the opinions of others who boycott these movies.
