They call people 'freepers' the way KKKers use the N word.

I have only been reading some DU posts for about 3 or 4 months, and I whole-heartedly agree that they are kooks. The sad thing is that they think they are relevant.

There's lots of folks here that don't trust big business and "country-club Republicans," and still have a very populist Huey Long-like streak on economic issues, while being foreign policy hawks and rock-solid socially conservative.

Exactly. My father and grandfathers all thought FDR walked on water and they liked his socialism-lite depression-era programs. Yet OTOH they were very independent-minded and wanted government to butt out of their own affairs. I think they were probably typical of most southerner's conflicting political philosophies at that time. It's hard to stand on principle when your kids are going hungry and barefoot in the snow.

Gee. I'm sure Miller's endorsement will carry a lot of weight with the DUmmies.

I'll take it. I suspect it will carry a lot of weight with a lot of Dems in places like West Va. and Tennessee. Maybe even central Pa.

I think buying his book might be the most useful thing we can do for America right now. I think we should buy his book and give it as gifts, etc. We need to make the Leftist media cover him, and if they don't it will be one more unambiguous example of their extreme partisanship. I think what Zell believes and says is important. The consciences of a conservative Democrats(and there are millions of them)will settle the next election. I think most Republicans will stick with Bush, independents will probably split, what will the Reagan Democrats do? May guide and conscience guide them to reject the rhetoric and politics of hate, division and capitulation. God Bless Zell Miller.

I wonder if Katie Couric will give Zell as much air time as she has given that treasonous SOB Clark, what about as much as Larry King gave Perot. Fat chance.

I realize that Miller is unique among Democrats, but I'm still a bit cynical about this -- for two reasons:

1. He's retiring, so this move doesn't "cost" him anything.

2. He's just written a book, and he knows exactly which party has more people who are intelligent and literate enough to read it.

Well, look at it this way… a bird in the hand is worth two in the Bush campaign, hehe.

SENATOR ZELL MILLER OF GEORGIA, the nation's most prominent conservative Democrat, said today he will endorse President Bush for re-election in 2004 and campaign for him if Bush wishes him to. Miller said Bush is "the right man at the right time" to govern the country.

You are a good man Zell .. why you ever stayed with the Dem party, I'll never understand .. but you are a good man

Try Christopher Hitchen's "No one left to lie to" great points from a lberal tired of Clintonian BS and absolutely hilarious writing. Yeah-I know he still his his faults-but he is one eloquent current American liberal hater..
