I suppose since there is no mention of WMD that this must be too difficult of a story for the media to find.

There’s an additional benefit, said Col. Jeff Yeaw of the 308th. Having the wells next to the schools brings people to the schools, which is a good thing. "The school becomes even more of a centerpiece in the village," he said.

Just like the Media says, there's nothing positive happening in Iraq, is there.

This is part of the ongoing offensive in the war on terror....why don't they publicize it?

What was the quote of Peter Jennings I saw on another thread; he said something like, "Back to the story about the MURDERS of Uday and Qusay Hussein."

I think I read that George and Tony are the two most popular names for boy babies in Iraq right now.

Tom Daschle is saddened, deeply saddened.

Tom Daschle said yesterday he thinks it is an abomination that we should deficit spend to give the Iraqis grants when they're sitting there on all that oil.

News Flash: As the chinese say, if you save a persons life you become responsible for them. When we drove out the ba'athists, we became responsible to help these people.

Is daschle a french name?

Let's suppose the Commander in Chief proposed Americans take Iraq's oil as "payment" for our help. Tom Dash-hole would be leading the brigade to charge the President with waging a "war for oil".

xzins, the press knows, or doesn't care.

I have a major mass-e-mail list of mainstream international journalists. They were misreporting from day one of the war. I personally believe they were following Iraq war 'talking points' pre-written last Winter by the DNC.

After doing CENTCOM briefing recaps and following the misreporting post-embeds, I e-mailed detailed humanitarian and security reports to the media often, asked them why they weren't reporting the daily good works of the troops across Iraq.

They know CENTCOM is the primary news source - in contact with the then 150,000 troops across a nation the size of CA. They chose to use their few reporters mostly camped out at the Palestine Hotel or near Ba'athist strongholds where our enemies knew where to find them.

An AP reporter told me they didn't trust the DoD, though, as Rummy would say, the facts are verifiable and prove that the DoD, NOT the press, is reliable.

After a month of beating my head against the wall, re. the press - and our GOP leaders/pundits, I just bypassed them all - as we did in Florida to get honest news out about Jeb Bush past our partisan Fla. press. Contact friendly groups - homeschoolers, church groups, military support groups - neighbors, and share the news the press refuses to report.

The word is getting out, thanks, in large part, to the troops (and newly free Iraqis) having access to cell phones and the internet.

You forgot to mention yourself in the "good news" effort. I am certain that I'm not alone in the appreciation of your work.

Yes we know soldiers die in war but to deny and hide the benefits of their sacrifice is treason. Peter. Dan. Ted. Etc.
