Little bit different story here.
She said: "He saw machinegun fire being directed at a mound of earth on which about 20 children were playing. "Most of the children fled but three young children were too scared to move - two girls and a boy aged between five and eight.
"Tom walked forward and picked up the little boy, named Salem Baroum. Having brought Salem back to safety he returned for the second child. Tom was shot in the head by a single sniper as he leaned forward to pick up a little girl."
Now, I wouldn't have gone to Israel in the capacity that this man did. But had I, for some reason, been on the scene and witnessed the event as described here, I probably would've done the same thing he did.

I wasn't there. I don't know the truth. If there is more than one story, and there are contradictions between the stories, I would tend to be quite skeptical of the story which paints the IDF as ruthless thugs and the "shield boy" as saintly tourist.
They tried to do the same thing with Rachel Corrie, I believe.
Again, I don't know the truth. But I do see a lot of anti-Israeli propaganda in the media.

I'm sorry for the kid and his parent, but imo the likelihood that the IDF hosed down a mound of earth with twenty children on it, and missed them all, is nil. And I doubt his parents left out any reports of casualties.

His sister is the one telling how it happened. There is no mention of who told her how the shooting happened. Also is there video of this incident?
There may be some truth to what the sister said. since the Israelis are investigating, but I bet we are hearing only the Palestian version of the incident. Can the bullet be traced to an Israeli gun?
