Please read my post #53...

Indeed, the president's action are in perfect context with a political figure - which is truly "puzzling and disturbing" as you stated, when he also tries to come across as a devout Christian president. Let an unstable man think not that he will receive anything he claims by faith.
Honor to whom honor is due - the islamic faith is not an example of honorable at this point in time, especially.

It has to be made by the Muslim community, and I'm sorry to say the criticism of Mahathir's views from that segment of even American society has been virtually nonexistant. I agree. That's why I found Taheri's article interesting. Best wishes.

I'd just leave it there, a monument to ignorance and hate as it exists like satan: everywhere we turn..

Look I realize who is involved in the war on terror and so does the president
as for other religions spewing hatred
I'm catholic and I can tell you for a fact that I have had some tell me that my religion and my beliefs are bad and that I will burn and rot in hell forever because of the way I believe .. and these people claim to be Christains
So because some people think this way .. should I condemn all christains of these certain faiths??

This, again, was common throughout all of antiquity, Aeisha was 6 when "married" and 9 when her 50 some year old "husband" consumated the "marriage. The Bible does not show this kind of polygamy and sex with children was part of Judaism. Abraham did take a concubine --- but one of childbearing age --- the whole purpose in him taking one ---- and his wife Sara was no child. No prophet of the Bible was making harems of widows of men killed in battles, no harems of little girls.
I don't believe there was anything good or nice or wholesome about Mohammed. Jesus did not go about slaying people ---- but there was some of that in the Old Testament --- but for different reasons.

Taking in the family of your dead enemy is, in my view, an act of compassion, and of respect for your dead enemy. I'm sure some of those widows were rather terrified and didn't enjoy being raped and forced to produce children for their enemies.

I figure Koreshites. The government sure believes in making war on them when they want to experiment with arms.

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64 is the Hadith reference apparently. Thanks.

There hasn't been a Caliphate in the Islamic world in over a thousand years, no unity among the sects. And maybe that's much of the problem with this religion. There is no excommunication of people like bin Laden so he can and does set the agenda ---- and men like him. I know of good Persians who claim to be muslim, they actually are tolerant but the more you talk with them, the more that seems a holdover of their previous religion and culture --- not from islam. They also seem to think the Arab muslims are overboard, they'll even admit it comes from islam, from the religion and that Christian Arabs don't seem at all to have the same problem. They've told me the Arab muslims are "crazies" and "weird".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the moral behavior of Mohammed, but he doesn't end up looking as bad as other rulers of his day. Now, he fails in comparison to lots of people -- Jesus in particular -- but I was addressing that one charge.
Marriages in OT days occured for girls as young as 3 (young boys, too). We'd really call them more "betrothals" but they were as binding as marriage.

It's the job of any Christian to always reach out to non-Christians. But in any case, remember that we are entering into an election, and that there are now more Moslem voters in the US than there are Jewish voters.

Far as I know, everytime someone passes that sort of judgement against you, they move themselves further away from God..

"Speak for yourself, please. It's arrogant to presume to speak for others. I'm a conservative and you don't speak for me.Since it's obvious that you do not agree with my beliefs, then you are 100 percent correct. Might want to change your main page to come in line with what you are saying. Seems quite a few of your Conservative principles were trampled all over by Bush. Unless of course you really do not believe what you wrote on your BIO. In which case, who is the principled one here?
To: a_Turk
Yea well, I've learned to just deal with it.
As with all religions, including catholics .. there are some that take it a bit to far and over the edge
