Some quotes to use to refute the Dems lies. Note he announced the end of "major combat operations", NOT the "end of the war".

"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed. (Applause.) And now our coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing that country. "

"We have difficult work to do in Iraq. We're bringing order to parts of that country that remain dangerous. We're pursuing and finding leaders of the old regime, who will be held to account for their crimes. We've begun the search for hidden chemical and biological weapons and already know of hundreds of sites that will be investigated. We're helping to rebuild Iraq, where the dictator built palaces for himself, instead of hospitals and schools. And we will stand with the new leaders of Iraq as they establish a government of, by, and for the Iraqi people. (Applause.)

The transition from dictatorship to democracy will take time, but it is worth every effort. Our coalition will stay until our work is done. Then we will leave, and we will leave behind a free Iraq. (Applause.)

...

"Our mission continues. The enemies of freedom are not idle, and neither are we. "

"The war on terror is not over; yet it is not endless. And we will continue to hunt down the enemy before he can strike."

Thanks for posting this address. I wish someone could get Don Imus to read this address - maybe it would shut him up. He keeps berating the President for saying "mission accomplished."

Excellent idea in posting this,

This thread can be used to counter the lying liberals and the bottom dwellers from DU who have given up on their traditional language, known as "Clintonese" and now speak the new ULTRA TWISTED LANGUAGE known as.........

"DUBONICS"

But if he would actually read the words .. then he and his buddies at MSNBC wouldn't have anything to complain about

Oh good grief .. I'm sitting here watching CNN about what Bush said and then they put up a poll asking if the deaths in Iraq were acceptable

What the heck kind of question is that???

Good grief CNN ticks me off

No death of an American Soldier is acceptable... Our responsibility is to make sure their deaths are not in vein. Pulling out of Iraq now would dishonor our fallen heroes and basically accept defeat to the terrorist.

Thank God we don't have a President who understands the consequences of buckling under to the pressure from the limp wristed leftist traitors in this country and stands firm against our enemies despite the fact that it might cost him his presidency.

I'd rather have George W. Bush not get re-elected, than quit on our dead warriors. Bill Clinton pissed on the graves of our fallen in Somalia while only under the slightest bit of pressure. George W. Bush is standing tall in the face of incredible pressure and redicule from the democrats and the media, and his willingness to stand up for what is right in the face of all of this, will not go un-rewarded.... Bank on it!

EXACTLY .. I am still reeling over that poll .. grrr

Did you listen to Sean Hannity today .. he had Congressman King from Long Island call in and discuss how things have changed in Iraq .. then he mention a soldier that was quiet thru the whole tour but then at the end came over to King and said that the american media had the blood of our soldiers on their hands because of the way they choose to report the news

He said is was a very powerful statement

BTW .. great post!!

I've had it with Imus and his backstabbing buddy Bernard McGuirk. I've been a big fan of Imus for over five years and defended him from critics on this forum for years, but no more. Their liberal-asskissing and downright leftist comments betray them as leftist stooges. I knew Imus was a weasel, but McGuirk is the biggest disappointment. I thought he was one of us, but he's on the other side. All that blather they spew about hating Clinton and being Republicans is just bulls---. I have more respect for outright libs than those two. What a pity.

The only things that said "Mission Accomplished" was the banner that the sailors put up, those who had been at sea for many many months. I'm sure the Dems wil find a way to say GWB ordered the banner
