PALESTINE, West Virginia (AP) -- An Iraqi lawyer who helped U.S. forces in the rescue of Jessica Lynch wrapped up a tour of the soldier's hometown Monday with a trip to a garden planted in his honor.
"I will not forget. It will stay with me, in my mind, in my heart," Mohammed al-Rehaief said as a ceremonial yellow mum was planted.

And by the way, I didn't ping you to this thread, I only posted to those who had previously posted on this thread. It is the anti-Lynch mob who call in truckloads of reinforcements, I do not play that game.

Sorry buy I only made it through the first paragraph of your latest Jessie shill. I see even in that short blurb facts are not your friend. You're weren't responding to any "inflamatory crud" as I wasn't even on this thread at all until I found my new buddy in my FR box first thing this morning.
You sound as if you wanna become my latest stalker. Be my guest, I have a whole crew that can show you the ropes. I'll introduce you to the one that called the Atlanta police on me a while back. As long as you don't go homo on me we'll get along just fine.

Sorry buy I only made it through the first paragraph of your latest Jessie shillNice dodge. You were called out in the next paragraph about your oft mentioned guy who saved her ass and is rotting in a grave and no one remembers his name...
Now that you are challenged, you avoid the issue by saying you stopped reading the post.

Point taken about CNN, but she should help him sell his book, if that is the case. He put his life on the line for her. She could have meet him and had a photo taken for heavens sake. She has already been shown on T.V. She has a book comming out. How much does she really want privacy?

You don't get it. She wishes to meet on her terms; dismissing his desires. It does not matter why he wishes to meet her, he wished too and she said no.
Although it looks like she does not want this to be a spectical it is no excuse. Cameras and reporters did not have to be part of any meeting that could have been arranged. If that is her argument, it is weak and insulting.
The bottom line is this: He assisted in the saving of her life at great risk to his own and his wife's; He did not have to help her, but he did; He wanted to meet with her on that date although she did not personally invite him (for what reason is unimportant); She could have met with him showing respect and due honor even though it would have made her uncomfortable, she chose not too.
Imagine if he chose not to help her in Iraq, playing it safe, keeping himself apart from any uncomfortable situation. In that scenario she might not be here to make any decisions at all.
IMHO

Yes, that is a fair question. The SEAL team who risked their lives to actually go into that hospital and carry her out took the time to visit her at WRAMC. She has not exactly been able to get around very well to go to him. As for talking on the phone, Mr al Rehaif hadn't mastered the language yet at the time of his Dateline interview last week, so a face to face with interpreter would be in order. He had plenty of time to visit her at WRAMC in Wash. DC, near his home and work. She was hospitalized for almost 4 months. He was in no hurry to see her and she in no condition to seek him out. She says she will meet him privately, even though a photo op together would be just as good for her book as his. Maybe she's afraid of how she'll react to the reunion and memories it may bring back. Who knows? This is too much of a nothing-burger of a story to nit-pick Lynch over. She'll meet him privately and he was in no hurry to see her before.

Agreed. There are about 6 posts in this whole mess that shed some light on what may be really going on here, behind the story; the rest is pretty much just Jessica flame wars, which I have not had any part in and try to stay out of.

That means we might not know about it. It may have happened already, or it may happen soon. Keep in mind she has physical therapy 5 days a week at a hospital in another city a considerable distance from her home, so it's not as if she has nothing but free time. He had 4 months to visit her at WRAMC near his DC area home and workplace, so he was obviously in no hurry to see her. The SEAL team who rescued her visited her at WRAMC without cameras present and I doubt if they all lived in the area.

The two books are published by competing companies. There may be language in one or both of their contracts forbidding a photo op with both of them together. Or maybe the legal or publicity departments have to get together to negotiate a meeting. We really don't know enough to base any criticism on, especially with CNN as the source. To assume that Lynch just snubbed him is a stretch. She has met at least two VFW groups, one in West Virginia and one from Ohio, she has met the SEAL tem who rescued her, she isn't snubbing anyone else, so there must be more to this than is presented here.

In reply to your three posts accusing me of being sympathetic to sadam's thugs, I'll ask you again, aside from your own suppositions, where in any of my posts do I say anything except that I'll take the official Army report's version of events as the most accurate? And that using a source who flatly states "I don't know" as the basis for anything is plain stupid. There is nothing in what I wrote that supports anything else. Your assertions are dishonest. And you are a boob...a word I use only to be polite.

I assume nothing. I rely on the Army's own report which says she was not beaten or shot and further, that her life was probabl saved by Iraqi doctors. Do you believe that the Army tailored its report to please the liberal media and praise sadam's thugs? Or do you just believe that you know more than they do?

There are also safety issues to be taken into consideration in this matter.
There have been attempts on Mr. al Rehaief:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A21585-2003Oct26.html
There has been heavy security around Lynch as well, including SWAT team on the roofs along her route on the day she returned home. One or both of their security details may have nixed a public meeting/photo-op.
There is more to this story than is being dished out by CNN.
I am amazed at the eagerness of some FReepers to swallow this CNN spin! Since when has this source been worthy of trust?

Sorry there Sherlock, Youve made another factual error, I really did stop reading your post. You've mistaken someone not suffering a fool gladly with someone trying to dodge your silly "question." Another factual error is this:
And by the way, I didn't ping you to this thread, I only posted to those who had previously posted on this thread.
Anyone reading this please go back and see who was on this thread first and who pinged who first. Mr/Mrs Milemark is unfortunately factually incorrect for like the 50th time on one thread. Then you wonder why people don't want to waste their time with you.
I'll take the time to answer your silly question, even though I thought you were a self proclaimed Jessie expert. In all of your shilling you forgot to read the executive summary. I'm becoming convinced that you're one of those horrid man-wench "soldiers" with a penis problem making everyone's life in the military miserable and dangerous with their propaganda & manipulation agenda.
Several people died that day, here lemme show you:
They fought the best they could until there was no longer a means to resist. They defeated ambushes, overcame hastily-prepared enemy obstacles, defended one another, provided life-saving aid, and inflicted casualties on the enemy.
See to someone such as yourself who either never served or was some fatso REMF, "the dood that saved her ass" would have to be John Wayne running through a hail of bullets to bring her to safety. In the real non-TV world, the dude that saves your ass is the soldiers next to you who protect and keep each other safe by DOING THEIR JOB, like those who were killed (the real heroes) and are now gone.
Unlike this pathetic excuse for a soldier who went into a hot zone with a filthy unserviceable weapon. She should be getting an Article 15 and have that weapon shoved up her a$$ as opposed to a medal_and_a_million. I know that's exactly what I and anyone else I served with would have gotten.
Then she insults everyone by expecting us to believe that she "can't remember" (her memory came back for the book deal).
Take your circle-jerk, factually incorrect schpeal to those who will believe your crap, I told you I don't care to talk to you anymore as I don't respect your opinion and don't appreciate having to waste my time correcting you on minutae such when I posted what or the machinations of a combat unit.
Go ahead and have the last word, from then on if I hear from you you'll receive nothing but abuse.
