I agree with you and share your sentiments.
I'd like to have someone with strong arms hold me so I could break down and cry.

In another thread, Dr. Eckleberg said that the abandoned van they found that matches the suspect vehicle, has California liscence plates that appear to be bogus, not matching any other California vehicle.
So, somebody went out of their way to manufacture plates before doing this. What the hell is going on?

It would be ironic if my brother's old second home in Arrowhead was destroyed, he sold it about a year ago. He coulda lost both his houses.

There's no way he could get out toward San Diego. That's where the fire is! Can't anybody from the station order him to get his sorry butt down the mountain before he becomes a casualty?

I agree with what you said 100%. The person earlier, though, wanted to talk about this disaster being the work of A.Q. (more specifically his 'prediction' of same). No one wants to go there.. not on this thread anyway.

Sometimes you have no choice. You are told your area is going to be safe, you leave your pets at home, and by the time you know it's trouble, your not allowed back.
My wife and I discussed it last night. We have evacuation routes planned, as well as plans of transporting our pets. It's irresponsible for anybody near the fires now, to not plan ahead. Gotta keep a full tank of gas, and an emergency kit ready to go.

HOW IS THE PINE VALLEY AREA? Local radio carried an interview with a resident about an hour ago, who indicated they were being evacuated to a spot a little further down the road.
Interesting piece of history, in the '70 Laguna fire, the last fire this size down here, the fire hit Pine Valley the first evening. It crowned, and blew right over town, leaving every thing untouched. Here's hoping that's a precedent.

Amen. I bet this tragedy has caused many people to sit down and plan out what they would do in this or a similar situation... or at least it should.

the two anchors are trying to tell him that maybe he should relocate to the east now, but he's saying that he's still safe. He's deliberately endangering himself and his cameraman, not to mention the ff that are going to end up having to resuce him, instead of fighting the fires!
To: webvanca
The fire is just south west of Pine Hills looks like Fire crews are going to try and make a stand around pine hills and Julian. Fire fount is ten miles long and heading north east. If can not hold pine hills then Julian is a last stand hoping to save the town as it would be a really big loss are Southern CA. I hope so I really will miss the Apple pie

If I'm the cameraman, I think I hand him the camera, wish him Godspeed, and hitch hike down the mountain with the next passing minivan. Idiot. You're right, probably some firefighter will have to risk his own life to rescue him.

Great, Dufus is getting ready to have ANOTHER press conference, undoubtedly to try and salvage what reputation he has left. Watch the spin happen in just a few minutes.

Prayers to you SoCal FReepers. This is worse than what we went through in Colorado a year ago because so many fires are so close to densely populated areas. I hope the weather changes soon, because that's about all that can stop one of these monsters.
