Michael Schavio on Larry King Live!
Larry King Live | 10/27/03 | greccogirl

Hello All;

Well I sucked it up and watched the Larry King show tonight and thought during the first 30 minutes that King was going to completely do another puff piece. I began to get the distinct impression that he DOES NOT BELIEVE Schavio, and began to nail him on several issues such as "why don't you walk away" forcing Michael to admit his unnatural reasons for not doing so. Both sides of course where not presented fairly as we had no contradicting proof of what they said on the air. However when King pressed the video question, Michael kept insisting that "the videos were staged" and that there were hours of this of her not reacting, which were presented in court. King then said, "oh good, then, let's go get them, can we get them tomorrow"? Felos about crapped and fell out of his chair and Michael started to stammer, well, well, she would have wanted privacy you should not be allowed to see those. Right. A caller (female) asked Michael point blank will he take a lie detector test and let's put this issue to rest, Michael seemed startled and started to say, well yes but again Felos about crapped and said "we'll discuss this later" and then Michael said "later". King didn't believe Michael and I don't think either one of them came across very well!!! Comments.

Larry believes Bill and Hitlery.

Yup, a good judge of character.

I hope King gets them.

I watched as well. At first, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. The MRI does show significant, two-thirds, brain matter distortion.

However, the last ten minutes were pretty amazing. He really came across as if he had something to hide.

I really struggle with this one as the media blitz is on and it is very difficult to know what is fact or fiction. I'm half convinced that this really has nothing to do with Terri. It could very well be that the parents and Michael despise each other and are doing whatever they can to upset each other - including using Terri as tool to do this.

Sorry. Just logged in and saw your post. Larry King was not on my viewing schedule tonight. Perhaps I can pick it up later on replay. Whatever. Nothing lost.

Husband Rips Parents in Right-To-Die Case

By VICKIE CHACHERE, Associated Press Writer

TAMPA, Fla. - The husband seeking to end his severely brain-damaged wife's life said Monday his in-laws have set out to block his actions because they initially wanted part of a medical malpractice settlement and more recently because of right-to-life political causes.

In his first interview since the latest round of legal fighting in the highly publicized case, Michael Schiavo said on CNN's "Larry King Live" that he continues to fight to end his wife's life because her wishes were not to be kept alive artificially.

"He's always wanted the money," Schiavo said of his father-in-law, Bob Schindler. "He wants the money. He wants the control."

Terri Schiavo, 39, has been in a persistent vegetative state since 1990 when a chemical imbalance, brought on by an eating disorder, caused her heart to stop and deprived her brain of oxygen.

Her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, believe their daughter could be rehabilitated and do not believe she had any wishes to not be kept on life support. Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed for six days earlier this month before the Florida Legislature and Gov. Jeb Bush enacted a special law to have it reinserted. The move touched off an international debate over the Schiavo case and right-to-die issues.

Terri Schiavo is being treated at a Pinellas Park hospice while her husband's attorney and the American Civil Liberties Union (news - web sites) prepares to challenge to constitutionality of "Terri's Law." The first filings in that legal fight are due Wednesday.

Michael Schiavo denied that he has withheld therapy from his wife, saying he once took her to California for an experimental therapy in which a stimulator was implanted in her brain. It didn't work, he said.

He also answered criticism that he has abandoned his wife for a longtime girlfriend with whom he has one child and another on the way. Schiavo said his girlfriend is supportive of his care for Terri Schiavo.

"This is Terri's wish," he said of the removal of the feeding tube. "And I am going to follow that if this is the last thing I can do for Terri," Michael Schiavo said.

The brain scan photo was pretty definitive. Terri is gone.

I don't think it's possible to tell anything about from the Schindler/Schiavo feud. Both sides obviously hate each other so much that neither side is credible.

I was really struck by how Michael referred to "the right wing...the right-to-life groups." He's obviously viewing this issue in political categories, too.

King did not first ask about the court videos. He asked if CNN could take a camera into her room and record her. Rightfully Schiavo rejected that. He was not comfortable with the idea of CNN dragging cameras into her room to tape her and display her to the world. If you were watching as you say, I'm sure you also heard Schiavo offer for Larry to observe the hours and hours of court tapes available of Terri but he did not want Terri's privacy to be invaded by vidoetaping and displaying her on TV in the state she is in. I don't know many people who would want themselves videotaped by CNN if they were in the same state as Terri and displayed like some object of curiosity for the world to see. Ok, most normal people wouldn't.

I agree on both your points. Both sides seem more interested in the "cause" than the woman, the cause being "winning." And you can't argue with the brain scan.

From other things I've read about this guy, he seems like a control freak -- used to having people jump and not question him.

Was he caught by surprise? Having his mouthpiece beside him, may have made him feel protected. I hope that facts pile up to the point where he has to go on the defensive, and finally is overcome.

Larry, once again, did not do his homework. He did not know that Michael had a baby with his girlfriend and Michael never did volunteer the information that his girlfriend is pregnant, again.

Also, when Michael said that he wasn't the only one who testified to the fact that Terri said she wouldn't want to be kept alive, that two other witnesses also testified to that, Larry did not even ask who these witnesses were. Considering how close Terri was to her family, it's funny she only told Michael's family of her wishes to die.

Michael Schiavo needs to move on with his life and see if he can not be divorced from Terri, so he can make this new broad a legitimate wife and unbastardize his kids.

"Terri gone?"

does anyone remember a case about twenty years ago about a little boy that was about 12 years old and suffered some kind of head injury that wound up astounding doctors? A routine xray to see how bad he had cracked his head, revealed that he only had 10 PERCENT OF A BRAIN and had never had! Apparently he was functioning quite nicely and no one had a clue that 90 percent had been missing since birth. He was of normal intelligence. I remember at the time it was causing quite a stir.

"unatural reasons" for not walking away.

what were they?

I also would like to know the answer, Define the "unnatural reason". It sounds almost like liberal speak to me.

I heard him say because he loved her. Maybe greccogirl thinks it's unnatural to love someone in the state that Terri is in.
