Anybody else hear of this?!? If this is true, then the Simi Valley fire has moved way out to the west and may be headed through Malibu and to the Pacific Ocean again.

I heard a report late this afternoon that the fire around the library had been contained and no longer a threat.
Don't know which of the three cable news channels it was on, however.

It's my understanding that the area around the Library was cleared of brush and other debries some time ago
But the way this fire is going .. anything can happen
Sending prayers and hoping this fire ends for the folks in CA really soon

We visited that beautiful library a few years ago. What a beautiful area and beautiful building. I hope it is all saved. God bless California. (we have lived in Pasadena, San Marino, and Claremont - in Claremont all last year, and we had bad fires then, could see flames from our back door - at night)

Found this on
AP

Just received an e-mail from the Reagan Library which stated that the fire had moved past it and it was safe.

"I heard a report late this afternoon that the fire around the library had been contained and no longer a threat."
Imagine if such a thoughtful policy has been implemented for the rest of California.
Cannot help but wonder what Arnold is thinking about all of this. . .

I don't believe in evolution. IF there were evolution we would have all evolved into the same thing and we would still be evolving, we have not achieved perfection.

from The Reagan Foundation:
Dear Friend,
On behalf of President and Mrs. Reagan, The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone dealing with the devastating Southern California fires. The Library, although once in the fire's path, has come out of this event unscathed thanks to the excellent job of the Fire Fighters who helped control the situation here at the Library. We would also like to thank you for your continued support.
President Reagan once said, "...in the face of natural disaster, we're drawn by our common humanity to help one another, to join in a great brotherhood of man."
As a part of the Ventura County community, we support and pray for the safety and well-being of our neighbors across Southern California. The Library doors will remain open.
Sincerely,
Duke Blackwood
Reagan Library Director
