[history]
Every time I limp through airport security these days, which isn't often, I think of my late departed friend, Perry.
Perry was a junkie. He preferred heroin, but he'd swallow or smoke just about anything he could get his hands on: cocaine, crack, booze, grass, hash, ecstasy, angel dust. You name it, Perry had tried it and would cheerfully try it again.

If we spread enough peace around the world, we might get to live in peace ourselves. If we spread enough violence, you can bet we'll get violence in return. Gee, we should have tried that in 1941, too.

Is this what we have reduced ourselves to? Have we really reached the point where we as a society feel jusitified in incarcerating six Yemeni nationals who trained in a al Qaeda camp in Afiganistan in the summer of 2001? How do we look ourselves in the mirror when we are running an outright police state that discriminates against our Arab American bretheren?

For a second, I thought Mr. Sorensen was going to say something significant, but when he comes up with this old hippie mantra:
"If we spread enough peace around the world, we might get to live in peace ourselves."
he blew the entire thesis.
All I can say is he has no clue the depth of the problem nor the solution.

They trained with the organization that has been attacking America since the early 90's. I hardly think they were singled out unfairly.

"We need to be making friends, not creating enemies. Because of our size and power, we need to act humble, not arrogant. We need to help those who need help, not harm those who have the misfortune to live in a land on our hit list. " This conception of life is daft. A friend is someone to whom you bend over..???!!!... Oh never mind, this was written in San Francisco.
