Another Military Monday and another tribute to my fallen comrades.
In memory of my fellow Vietnam helicopter pilots who were killed in that war the following were lost on OCT 27. God bless them all.
1968 WO1 Dennis C. Ackerman -- 92 AHC, Age 21, Married, Gretna, Louisiana
1968 WO1 Edward P. Mullins -- 92 AHC, Age 21, Single, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
1970 1LT Jack L. Bagley -- 336 AHC, Age 24, Married, Marshfield, Missouri
On a personal note: Jack Bagley was in my unit, 336th Assault Helicopter Company. I did not know that he was killed in Vietnam until I started doing this post. It came as a shock. He was still a co-pilot when I left Vietnam and was killed shortly after I returned to the States. He was always friendly and always had a smile on his face. He was a good man.
Another tribute to Lt Bagley:
Jack was killed when the Huey he was flying hit the tallest tree in "the tiger's tail" a strip of tall trees just south of Soc Trang. Jack was flying night cover for Soc Trang Airfield for the 336th Assault Helicopter Company at the time of his death. Jack was an officer and a gentleman in the finest sense of those words. His brothers in the 336th missed him greatly.
Harry Carter -- 336th Assault Helicopter Company

They are also excellent to play pranks on.
On, St.Louie1, I hope the pain stops soon!!

I didn't see that. That was a nice gesture. When I returned I didn't experience any of the bad treatment many returning Vietnam vets received. The only one to greet me at the airport was my wife, I don't think I would have had it any other way.

Thank you for the opening posts and prayers.
It is sobering to realize there are no "safe" moments in the lives of those who are dedicated to the ideals of freedom for all.
Our wonderful men and women in the military live and breathe their values, trying to ensure it for others.
Father, we entrust today's warriors to Your care, asking for Your Presence in their every day. Give to them wisdom and strength and comfort in all they experience, and shield them from those who answer to the evil one.
Father, be also with their families in these tense and troubled times.
Lord, we thank You for those like ladtx and his sons who answered the call, and for all those lost in causes for the good of many.
While many chose to not see how oppressed the persons of Southeast Asia were under the sweeping advance of communism, their actions were not in vain.
Had they not stood in the gap, we well might have seen a more desperately troubled world, and have been overwhelmed in trying to stop the further advance.
Help us, and America, to stand firm against evil in whatever form it is presented.
Guide our President and our leaders in all things.
We thank You for hearing our prayers. Amen.

I've heard some awful stories from vets that landed in San Francisco ,related here on FR.I lived in Texas and never saw such behavior but it really hurt some of the vets that got bad treatment.
I can imagine just wanting your wife.I was so selfish when my husband's 6 mos cruise was ended back in the 50s,I wouldn't let my poor Dad who adored my husband stay and meet the ship.He had driven me and my 9 mo. old baby in my car to California!Ah, the self centeredness of my youth!

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!
(((HUGS))) to Y'ALL!
Did everyone have a good weekend?
Wished I could've stayed on Friday's thread longer, but I'm glad everyone enjoyed it :O)
Thanks, Billie, for putting it up.
(((LOUIE)))
I'm keeping you in my prayers for a full recovery!
To all whoe have served in our armed forces, both veterans and active duty as well as those who have made the supreme sacrifice,
THANK YOU!
I was insensed that our rally wasn't shown on TV, only that bunch of "Animals" who claim they don't wanr war. For folks who abhor violence, they have me confused, Why are they practicing Violence when they attack our troops and those who support them?
I have something to say about the rally Saturday:
First off, I would have loved to have been there along side my fellow patriots and show my support in this way for the President and for our troops. But I have certian obstacles which prevents me from doing that. without going into detial about them, let me say that I am a really big supporter of the President and his administration, and I love my country and pray for and support those who defend her. Because I can't get to rallies, doesn't mean I'm not commited to the ideas they convey. For those that insist that I do something, Tell me what I can do from my home.
Thanks for not being judgementle.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
