KTLA is the WB affiliate in LA.I know. DirecTV carries the four biggies (CBS/NBC/ABC/Fox) as distant locals. Dish has a "superstations" package that includes KTLA along with superstations in Denver (KWGN), Boston (WSBK) and New York (WWOR & WPIX).
When I got my system, D* had a better deal, so I went with it.

so what's the deal with all the anti-US Canadian liberals who keep giving us the news?

I don't get it... is there a reason for it?

This President believes that you allow the people on the ground to handle emergencies since he is not equipped to man a fire line and the last thing these firefighters need right now is to see the President while fighting fires with the number of people that travel with the President for his protection. Well, that certainly explains why he stayed away from ground zero after 9/11 until they had the mess cleaned up.

no that's not what I said...Dubya would join a firefight
if allowed,it's his nature and as to afraid of the dems
and that relation to terrorism...well

arms supplier ,you know like those explosive devices

the facia for this demogory is the UN .A soul sucking
bloodless intent to kill the US constitution
To: bonesmccoy
They cannot bring the President into this zone right now -- too much advance planning since 9/11 and too many people that are out on the fire lines and law enforcement needed in these area.

Don't want to add a Presidential visit and all that encompasses to what these disaster preparedness people are going through. Ever stop to think this may be what terrorist would count on -- visit by the President -- AF One parked on the tarmac -- could be a prescription for real disaster.

...but money sure is. I understand that there are firefighters coming from all over. They and support for them are what we really need right now. I read one post last night that said they couldn't even get food to our firefighters.

That is a big huge mistake.

Gov. Davis is out there comforting the families... where's the POTUS?

Karl Rove really doesn't get California... at this rate, Rove's blinders will cause us to lose the WH.

He starting to become the Ed Rollins of the party.

I don't get it... is there a reason for it?Overall? Nope. The Canadian reporters and reporterettes are breaking their collective necks to get into domestic markets - they know where the money is.
As long as it's OK to hire legal foreign nationals, there's nothing to be done about it.

Unbelievable. The CNN anchor ditz put off news of the California fires to announce Jackie Jarris (sp?) and her newborn baby. Who gives a flying F***?

I hear you! Homes are more imporant than the cliffhanger.
To: SCalGal
It used to be he could get on a plane with little notice and arrive somewhere -- now that is not the case -- too many threats and they pull in people from all agencies to plan visits.

He didn't go to NYC the day it happened or the day after -- he went after the area had been secured!

These fires are still out of control.

Well, that certainly explains why he stayed away from ground zero after 9/11 until they had the mess cleaned up. He went when THEY told him to come.
And it was within 3 days.
Try to stick with the facts.

That is ridiculous -- I gave up on cable news and have my TV on KTLA. North of the 118, they are moving out all the news crews/fire crews as the fire has picked up. Trying to jump the 118 again in another place.

If you live in Box Canyon, etc., you can now go back in your homes, the threat has passed.

I heard that one branch of the mountain fires is now headed in the direction of Wrightwood. Does anyone have any update on this? I'm sitting in my office in downtown Los Angeles but live in the foothills above Glendale.
To: bonesmccoy
KTLA has crews in Devore as well -- they just had to leave in a hurry there.

I haven't seen a similar map for San Diego. If I find one I'll post it on the new thread.

They are showing the smoke covering San Bernardino county t the east and Simi Valley to the north.

Channel 5 moved their truck along with the firecrews and where they left on the 118 is now completely covered in smoke and the fire onces again jumped 118 at another place.
