A facetious argument. We can do better and so can they, but, unlike most of our illegal immigrants, those who are crossing over their borders are crossing to kill.

"''If America, a rich superpower cannot stop Mexicans crossing into the United States, then how can we, a poor country, be expected to stop Palestinians getting into Iraq."

Should read:

''If America, a rich superpower REFUSES TO STOP Mexicans crossing into the United States, then how can we, a poor country, be expected to stop Palestinians getting into Iraq.''

Oh, I believe if we started shooting at illegal crossers from either Syria or Mexico ---- the crossings would certainly slow down...

Its when DIPLOMATS or POLITICIANS have something to gain from "border crossers" that nothing gets done....

Touche! One day the president will have to seriously address this issue...And the right answer is NOT another round of amnesty!

''They are very determined and many of them dream of seeing an American tank,''

Well, why didn't you tell us earlier! We can save all of you the trouble of traveling and send our tanks to Syria.

It would seem that not only is America (American government) unable and unwilling to stop illegal criminal border crossing, the American government is abetting the criminal border crossers by arresting and jailing anyone that attempts to enforce the law.

Link

Now, there is a solution that will appeal to all Americans and is applicable to all the illegal mexicans. Just in case any wimpy little lurkers are scared to go look at this solution, it does not involve arms.

Link

I ran it by a legal bud of mine and he just smiled. First comment was "Yep, the crime of conspiracy is committed as soon as the illegal sets foot on u.S. territory. Therefor, anyone questioning a suspect illegal border crosser that receves an answer of "looking for work" as the illegal's reason for crossing the border and currently being in u.S. territory is no longer facing a simple tresspasser. The illegal has at that point confessed to conspiracy to violate federal money laundering laws. And if there is "reasonable suspicion" that the illegal border crosser is breaking major federal laws and is no longer a simple tresspasser, that American citizen (in most states) can legally detain the criminal border crosser.

Hmm.. using "moral equivalence", a logical fallacy.

Differences (of course), abound:

This statement represents an open invitation to U.S. forces to enter Syria to dispatch the terrorist organizations, their foot soldiers, and any Syrian military presence that gets in the way. In fact, I have little doubt our SOF are operating in Syria now.

I believe Syria has just cooked it's own goose.

Folks would be amazed at the cooperation from Syria if we were to lob a few cruises in to the Syrian capital and maybe a few into the "royal" palace.

He picked the wrong example.

Should have said, "if America ... for fifty years could so easily stop the Soviets crossing into Western Europe and the North Koreans from entering South Korea, then how can we, despite being a barbaric poor excuse for a state, not be expected to stop a few of our "palestinian" surrogates from getting into Iraq?"

And then to have added to the effect that if we do not, who will blame America from doing it to and for us?

The Mexicans are coming to work for Americans for better futures. The palestinian terrorists are coming to Iraq kill Americans out of religious/idealogical hatred. Those who don't understand the significant difference have forgotten the meaning of September 11th.

Syria cannot stop militants entering Iraq to attack U.S. forces, Syrian Foreign Minister Farouq al-Shara said in an interview with a British Sunday newspaper.

Well, then no problem.

Wait.
Since there is no way to distinguish if this "inability" is accidental or deliberate...

THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES!
