LONDON, Oct. 25 Syria cannot stop militants entering Iraq to attack U.S. forces, Syrian Foreign Minister Farouq al-Shara said in an interview with a British Sunday newspaper.
-- snip --
''They are very determined and many of them dream of seeing an American tank,'' Shara said of militants who cross the border into Iraq.
''We are doing everything we can,'' he told the Sunday Telegraph. ''We have tightened our checkpoints and are turning people back. But the border is long and we cannot cover it all.
''If America, a rich superpower cannot stop Mexicans crossing into the United States, then how can we, a poor country, be expected to stop Palestinians getting into Iraq.''

I remember going to school with first generation English speaking descendents of illegal Mexican immigrants in the 1940s. Yes, and their parents were illegally in the country. Maybe their children are technically US citizens, but their parents are not. Their parents should have been deported and their kids put in custody of the state (if the parents did not want to take them back to Me-hee-co)

Too-friggin'-shay, my Muslim brother!

In continuing with my point, the 1986 amnesty, for the first time in American history, gave blanket amnesty to these "parents" I spoke of that just waltzed into our country uninvited. Those kids you went to school with had illegal alien parents.
The "parents" of 1986 were legalized.

Damn, I agree with the Syrians on this one, they are right. Actually, they are exploiting the Bush administration's willfull neglect of our immigration laws.
And I must say Syria's PR people are ingenius.

He's got a point. It's a fairly long border, on a desert, so there are almost an infinite number of crossing points. I'm also guessing that there is a culture there of having a fairly porous borders, with lots of traffic between villages, etc. Not easy at all to shut down that border even if they wanted to do so.

And I must say Syria's PR people are ingenius.I'd figured sooner or later someone would catch on to this.
Now if GWB could only figure out that these ILLEGALS will vote "rat" if given the chance.

That's a a hard one to rebut, so I predict it won't be rebutted.
I doubt anyone is going to come right out and say "because we don't try".
I imagine that nobody will address it, and it will be gone by the next news cycle.

Interesting that this came from the top, hours before the Ramadan Fiery Fullisade in Baghdad.

The Mexican's entering the U.S. border are not carrying AK47's and RPGs. The Mexican's crossing our border are by and large peaceable. If they were not, there'd be a military presence wasting every armed Mexican crossing the border. My assumption is that you have not been to Los Angeles lately?
RPG's, probably not.
AK47's and other powerful weapons. Yes.
Some kids gunned down just the other week in a "gang" war.
Are all of them violent? Of course not. But with an open border, how do we know who is an who isn't?
One innocent victim is one too many. And LA alone has hundreds each year. And that is only one city.

Syrian migrants are only doing the things that the Iraqis won't do.

The Syrians sponsor terrorism against Americans. Are you sure you want to "agree with the Syrians on this one? Yes.
The message is not invalid because the messenger is despicable.

Bienvenidos a Tejas! It's a whole other country ;o) Muchas gracias, senor (or senorita, whichever one you are).
Actually, I lived here before and have returned after 8 years. I came back to Houston to find that two of the FM radio stations that I used to listen to have gone Mexican. Very depressing.

Yes. Okay, you are now publicly allied with the Syrian PR campaign in their war against Americans. And we wondered why Jane Fonda went to Hanoi ...

Well, whoever the source is of this line, they know more than MSNBC and the rest! Wonder if it is a Freeper?
