Notice the section I bolded and put in red font. This group was not associated with us. My girlfriend believes this to be Fred Phelp's group.
Sloppy writing. This basically constitutes a smear.

A total of 347 U.S. soldiers and Marines have died from hostile fire, accidents and other causes Let's be sure and try to boost the numbers by throwing in soldiers killed in accidents and "other causes." Of course, your chances of dying as a U.S. soldier in Iraq are still lower than your chances of dying as a jogger in Washington D.C.

"We never should have gone into Iraq in the first place," he said. "[The invasion] was based on a pack of lies."This is always thrown out by these prix, but never backed up. It just is not going to resonate with the American people they obviously see the B.S. these anti-war Democratic party liberals are trying to spew! I hope Dean gets the nod because if this is their message to America then they are going no where. Stupid, baseless, spineless, socialist/communist dems!
What lies? By who? They might as well deam theirselves as the NOWARE PARTY!

Craftily disguising his normal resemblance to a phallus.

"your chances of dying as a U.S. soldier in Iraq are still lower than your chances of dying as a jogger in Washington D.C."
Unfortunately this viewpoint, while technically true, dilutes the sacrifice that our Soldiers are making.

Notice the section I bolded and put in red font. This group was not associated with us. I was hoping not. When the reporters quote those "red letter" kooks it has the effect of alienating all intelligent and even Christian people, making it seem as though the pro-Bush demonstrators were crazy religious nuts. That really stuck out in the article as an unfair representation of the pro-war demonstrators.

Unfortunately this viewpoint, while technically true, dilutes the sacrifice that our Soldiers are making. True and I'm not so sure it is "technically true" either. Sources?

Washington D.C.
had 262 murders last year.
Since President Bush declared an end to major combat in Iraq on May 1, 109 U.S. soldiers have been killed by hostile fire. That is roughly an annual rate of 218 per year.
This just compares your chances of being murdered in D.C. vs. your chances of being killed by hostile fire as a U.S. soldier in Iraq. I don't have time to google the numbers right now, but I am willing to bet that if you throw in the number of people killed by accidents and all other causes (as they do in this article) then the death rate in D.C. (with car accidents, drug overdoses, illness and old age deaths) is far, far greater than the overall death rate of U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
I am not in any way trying to diminish the sacrifice of our soldiers in Iraq. I wish that it were possible to prevent the death or injury of a single soldier. It is important, however, to put it in context, particularly when the democRATs and their media lackeys insist on calling Iraq a quagmire and comparing it to Viet Nam (where the daily death toll frequently exceeded the total death toll in Iraq).

Did either of these reporters even come to our rally? Did they see any of the Protest Warriors signs? How did they happen to miss us and find the kooks?

I'm not sure it's technically true, either. The population of Washington, DC is 572,000, the number of soldiers is approximately 130,000. If someone wants to use that argument, and it is used continually, it would be more logical to compare the number of deaths per thousand, wouldn't it? The disparity in numbers in this example isn't as huge in many of the other comparisons used around here, at least.

I was interviewed by the Washington Times yesterday. The reporter was not really familiar with the DC Chapter.
