Hi all, I was just able to get online. We evacuated from our home in south poway in the early afternoon and we are in point loma. I fear that many of my friends in scripps ranch have lost their homes just by hearing the street names on the news. We definitely are not going back home tonight but I'm confident that our home will still be standing. We left it with the windows closed and we have stucco all around and tile roofing. Point Loma is covered in ash and the air is so dry and smoky. Please say a prayer for all of us down her in San Diego. We are having a really rough time.

We will be staying with relatives in point loma tonight. My kids are already tucked in bed. Hopefully we can go back home tomorrow.
There are a lot of "Estates" around here but I haven't heard of Hill Havens. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist here though.

I think they're trying, but no one anticipated the flood of people.

He lives off of the 805 in the scripps ranch area behind miramar, west of Pomerado road. He expects a total loss, as the reports from the neighborhood aren't so good. He does have pretty extensive insurance, and was able to get lots of unreplaceable things out of the house.

A correction, he is 2.5 miles east of the 15, just south of Pomerado Road. I have another brother that lives about 6 miles or so north of him in Poway, his area is still ok, they aren't too worried.

I was amazed when I woke up Sunday morning that this huge local story wasn't already a major national story.
It was a shock to me there was no thread on the San Diego firestorms.
