I think you're referring to the 76... as of a year ago, it still wasn't going through. You can get from the 15 to the 5 on it, but it's surface streets for much of the way.

Fire now moving south through Mission Trails Park heading towards Mission Gorge Rd. Mandatory evacuations in force. Only one fire engine protecting pump station. I'm watching KUSI (cable 9). Paul Bloom sure knows the area!

3:50PM - THE I-5 IS THE ONLY OPEN FWY INTO SAN DIEGO AT THIS TIME

Flying is shut down at night. We are about to hit darkness in under an hour.

There's only so much they can do in an hour; they can only dump one load at a time.....not good.
To: dogbyte12
more like 20 min, I think.

I just remember that it was difficult to get from the Penasquitos/Scripps area (where I used to live) to the Del Mar area (where my sister lives) without going the long way around. That freeway (76 doesn't ring a bell, but that doesn't mean anything!) was eventually going to cut across to the coast.

Winds are down for the most part, but they are supposed to kick up again over night. Again, no air support, so it will be another long night.

The 56 is the freeway. It is not completed.
