LOL! Yes, staying home "is" the agenda tonight. For certain.
Hope I can have pizza delivered! According to the fine folks at SDG&E, we're supposed to curtail out electricity use, and since my appliances are all electrical, save for the gas dryer, why cook tonight?
Has the Charger game against Miami scheduled for tomorrow night been cancelled? (not that I care) LOL!!!!!!!!!
I live off of Ft. Stockton --- your detour route is probably Sunset. :) Ash is everywhere here too, and my house also smells like smoke. I closed all the windows but not the chimney flues in the fireplaces.

My guess the California Fires will be hum-ho national news tonight and in your face panic news tomorrow. I share all of your sentiment with the lack of news coverage about this story. Here in Central AZ...Look, I have to wait about three more hours 'till I can get AM Radio from Southern California.
Have a sinking feeling that this is payback for the Recall. Hope I'm wrong, but it sure tracks the Anti-Davis vote area.
It seems too organized...burn out the Repubs and Indes.

They've determined already that a great number of these fires were arson.

I just got a Freepmail from someone who has a brother in Chula Vista. She hasn't been able to contact him all day.
I don't know that area...anything you can tell me?

Mark the canyons alongside all freeways and major off-ramps. Particularly where the canyons run up the hills into housing. All the cretins need do is toss a plastic bottle of gasoline out the window of a car and wella!
Just so. And that makes the following item from Post #13 of particular interest, particularly if they had a *work accident* with such a bottle inside their car, or if a third participant decided to pay off a couple of hired subcontractors permanently, then let them take the rap.
A retired firefighter reported to the California Highway Patrol that two bodies were found in a burned-out car at 11745 Lake Vincente Road, south of Ramona.

"Moorpark" -- someone was asking where it was and I screwed it up, although I know I've heard about it over the last day or two.

Yes, I know. My point was that there are reports on new fires. I can't think of any way to stop new fires from being set other than arresting people who are out an about for any reason other than evacuation.

thank you both--my sister lives there--on Frisbee St.(!)

Here is a map of
some of the fires in the area. The winds are pushing the fires towards the ocean. East Lake, which is in eastern Chula Vista may be in danger.
