[history]
The prime minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad, informed the world this month, among other things, that "Jews rule this world by proxy. They get others to fight and die for them." Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. national security adviser, described Mahathir's comments as "hateful, they are outrageous."

Thanks for the post. Of course, to Democrats Pipes is a racist and bigot and enemy of the Muslim world, no matter how many times he says "Radical Islam is the problem, moderate Islam is the solution". It doesn't matter, you cannot even attack radical Islam anymore. As a Rod Dreher article earlier this week further showed, you simply ask a question about some Muslim's ties to terrorist organizations and you are immediately labeled a bigot and the question goes unanswered.

57 statesThat's simply ludicrous! These jaspers have proven themselves incapable of governing even one.
Well, I'd give them the Gulf sheikdoms - small-scale traditional Islamic 'states' may be somewhat workable.

One gets the idea that muslim leaders are indeed preparing their populations for a large scale assault on Israel...just as nazi propogandists wore down Germany's resistance to the idea that the Jews must be exterminated.

It's a point well made. If anti-Semitism were not emblematic in the Muslim world, Mahathir's remarks would've have been greeted with embarrassed silence not a standing O.

Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. national security adviser, described Mahathir's comments as "hateful, they are outrageous."But she then added, "I don't think they are emblematic of the Muslim world."
Technically correct, in a hair-splitting sort of way.
They are, in fact, emblematic of the Muslim world... AND the Democratic Party, as well.

One gets the idea that muslim leaders are indeed preparing their populations for a large scale assault on Israel...It's not just Israel, it's the world and it seems our leaders can't or won't recognize this.

It doesn't matter, you cannot even attack radical Islam anymore. Of course not, but you can attack Jews and Christians all you please. The left has managed to erase 911 from the minds of the world in 2 short years which shows how powerful the media is.

Someone needs to remind Pipes the LAX killings weren't terrorism or antisemitic, the FBI said so. Just a disgruntled Egyptian walking up to the El Al counter and killing Jews.

There are likely more people alive in the world today who buy, repeat, and believe Nazi propaganda about the Jews than at any time during Hitler's life. We are still fighting World War II, and it is far from obvious who is winning. The German Nazis have merely been reinforced by a billion Muslims -- who, of course, will want to occupy Europe along with exterminating all Jews. It is a fretful time.
To: pgkdan
In fact, Mahathir's views are precisely emblematic of current Muslim discourse about Jews Sorry to disagree. This is they way the Muslims have always been.
