ACLU to enter Schiavo legal fight

TAMPA - The American Civil Liberties Union is joining Terri Schiavo's husband in seeking to overturn the new law which allowed Gov. Jeb Bush to intervene in the contentious right-to-die case, an ACLU official said Friday.
Simon said it wasn't until Bush and the Legislature's unprecedented action this week did the ACLU decide to join Michael Schiavo's side. "Once the governor thinks it is the proper role of the Legislature and he to set aside the judgment of the courts, that requires us to get the courts to declare that is just unconstitutional," he said
